  1. Former Gen1 R1T owner… now Gen2… differences I’ve noticed so far

I made a recent involuntary switch from a G1 (2024) R1T to a G2 (2025) R1T as covered in this thread: Another ā€˜Murdered’ Rivian These are all fairly small things, and maybe some of these changes have been mentioned by others, but thought I’d illuminate a few of the little G1/G2 differences I’ve...
  2. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

Agreed. Ultimately we need EV repairs to become less expensive over time and EV repair-ability to be higher. These need to not become yet another expensive ā€˜disposable’ consumer product. That was certainly not my intention when I purchased… perhaps I was naive.
  3. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

Yes, they did go after the other drivers insurance. But like all other prices, including the costs of a new Rivian, I fully expect my insurance prices to go up every year… perhaps dramatically, regardless. Insurance costs just never seem to go down. :-( I guess the most I can hope for is that I...
  4. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

My specs on both vehicles are in my forum signature. My G1 was a Dual Motor Performance Max, so a comparable vehicle was readily available, which obviously would not have been an option if mine had been a quad. I considered a Tri, but really just don’t need that (or the reduced range), not that...
  5. Another ‘Murdered’ (Totaled) Rivian - a sad story with a good ending

(Edited… pictures added) As I just posted to the ā€˜Would you buy your Rivian again?’ poll, not only would I buy again… I just did, earlier this week. My 2024 G1 R1T, delivered 12/30/2023 after a LONG preorder wait, was rear-ended in late Feb. 25 by a Silverado going 45 mph while I was stopped in...
  6. Poll: Would you buy your Rivian again?

Not only would I buy again… I just did earlier this week. My 2024 G1 R1T was rear-ended by a Silverado going 45 mph while I was stopped in traffic. I was the only occupant and saw it coming, but my 3.5 ton brick barely moved (the impact did knock my sun glasses off and my watch reported ā€œIt...
  7. Anybody else delivered their R1 without paying for it?

Well, almost zero. I paid $39 dollars for a year of New Car Replacement coverage on my insurance policy for my 2024 G1 R1T. I was rear-ended by a Silverado doing 45 mph while I was stopped in traffic. The insurance company covered the cost of my new 2025 G2 R1T. Does that count?
  8. Rear License Plate Holder?

I went with this item: License plate tool holder 3D printed item from XCD Shop. Not actually a frame… mounts behind the tag with a small unnoticeable compartment that sticks out on each side of the tag. Used to hold very small essential tools for emergency access (fender well liner release) to...
  9. Air compressor cover - ummm...

I used a small square of dual lock (basically plastic Velcro with adhesive backing) on my G1.
  10. Air compressor cover - ummm...

OP, is this on a G2 R1T? I just THIS morning picked up my 2025 G2 R1T and while going over it in my garage I noticed that the compressor door appeared to be different from the one on my 2024 G1 (which did not stay closed). On my new G2, there seem to be ā€˜detents’ or something inside the hinge...
  11. Rollup "Powered Tonneau Cover V2" available option on some 2025 models now

May be as good as we can expect. Glad your tonneau is back in business, and kudos to your wife for her insightful technique for getting your fix accelerated.
  12. Rollup "Powered Tonneau Cover V2" available option on some 2025 models now

Has anyone with a V2 measured distance between truck bed and lowest portion of the V2 tonneau? Two measurements if possible, given the 'corrugated' height on the truck bed (low and higher level). Considering Thunderbolt Bed Glider, and wondering if it will still have 16.25" clearance with a V2.
  13. Rollup "Powered Tonneau Cover V2" available option on some 2025 models now

As the saying goes ā€œHope springs eternalā€ā€¦ but as the other saying goes ā€œHope is NOT a strategyā€ :-(
  14. So long and thank you

Thanks for the feedback. For my uses (and here in FL - hurricane country) I would be more about the 'power out' options available in your new chosen truck vs the Rivian. Did that have any bearing on your decision? Drive well.
  15. Rollup "Powered Tonneau Cover V2" available option on some 2025 models now

OH COME ON!!! Really!!? On a V2! I love Rivian, but really folks... we can NOT head down this defective path again with V2 Tonneaus!!! Hopefully (please!!) this is a one off issue...
  16. Rollup "Powered Tonneau Cover V2" available option on some 2025 models now

ā€œcover reset sequenceā€? I didn’t have a V1 on my G1, but if pickup happens on time I will have a V2 on my G2 next week. Did the V1s have the ā€˜cover reset sequence’ process as well? V1 owners… comment?
  17. Rollup "Powered Tonneau Cover V2" available option on some 2025 models now

If it rolls back and forth on command… and lasts… I can live with that!
  18. Shop now and save up to $6,000 on select R1

March 31 delivery is the cut-off. I stayed on top of the process with lots of calls and managed to get a March 28 delivery. Even on shop vehicles that indicate longer availability (like ā€œ2 to 6 weeksā€), they seem motivated to jump thru some hoops to make the 03/31 cut off.
