All of this just because I thought, "Thank Goodness, Safelite can now replace our windshields! I'll let the windshield specialists take care of it." Perhaps some of them are decent, but Silverdale, WA, is not.
Safelite replaced my windshield and reused the rain sensor, leading to bad sensor...
I concur.
Go with passenger side.
Campgrounds are designed for "your space" AKA privacy and hookups (charging) to be such that your ingress/egress is passenger and cables are driver.
That's a consumable part, they should NOT be reusing it. I had the same issue. Once removed from the glass, the adhesive and transparency are lost. You can visibly see it not fully adhered if reused.
Haha be very grateful! Is it Tualatin? They are good and have more openings than Seattle area. The main one in Seattle near Boeing Field is good, but all of them here have like 3 month waits for non-emergent items.
They were going to charge me $125 for troubleshooting, I'm sure they would've waived it if I pushed, but the fact I had to wait 3 months and drive 4 hours total on a work day to get it done, I'm really over going out of my way for something I can do myself. I ordered windshield urethane from...
Correct. How are you splicing the wires? I recommend butt connectors with heat shrink. Get the smallest size that'll work and heat shrink each, then heat shrink a larger sleeve over the whole thing. And probably some electrical tape over THAT just to be safe 🙃
When you get in, before you leave, test running the HVAC pulling in outside air with all windows closed. Turn it up to 3 or 4 speed and listen for a whistle. If you hear it, have them test the seals. I was unsatisfied with Safelite and had Rivian redo it... Well as annoying as the Safelite...
There isn't an ultrasonic recalibration procedure. The ADAS only covers camera and radar, but I've attached it. Not DIY.
Procedures are attached.
Same! I recently cancelled an appointment for windshield leak and tailgate latch failing for the 7th time. I really don't want to spend 4 hours of...
That bottom dot looked pretty deep, like the pointy end hit there, I'll spray it in the morning and see if there's still an indent. And follow up after a couple days.
Which sensor is it? To confirm, it's ultrasonic?
Post a pic of what you've got and what you see. With photos and more detailed info, I can dive into the service manual and post guides.
I concur.
I finally got a chance to run the truck through the touchless car wash, it's looking good after!
Advice for install: make sure your squeegy is really clean, preferably new, and use the soft side. I scratched my film using the hard side off the bat. Good news is I only notice it if...
