  1. Rivian Customer Service: SiriusXM Radio will not be native part of the entertainment system

4g/cell service doesn’t help me much. I live in rural NY and am often out of cell service for long periods of time. I use XM to stream news stations such as CNBC, so downloading a playlist from Spotify won’t help me either. This is supposed to be an ā€œadventure vehicleā€. It is marketed to...
  2. Did You Change Your Wheel Size After the Range Estimates Were Revealed?

I haven’t switched yet, but I likely will. My primary use cases are on-road. I have a Polaris Ranger Northstar Edition for hunting and the really rough stuff. That said, I live on a gravel road and travel many back roads here in the mountains. Cell service is spotty and I will miss the...
  3. Should 20" Wheels be the standard wheel included

It’s a shame. I’m fully aware and live on an unpaved road, but will change my configuration from 20’s to 21’s because I have a use case where mileage matters and I’d like to keep my Launch Edition placeholder.
  4. 1st deliveries in November says my Rivian Guide. Communication from RJ expected today

I’m a Feb 2019 preorder and it’s all crickets here too. I think we’ll be lucky to get deliveries sometime in early 2022 and I’m hoping we will still be ahead of the preorders. I’m also hoping that if we are delayed that long that we will have a shot at the bigger battery. It would be lovely...
  5. Pre-heating and Pre-cooling????

How can this possibly be missing? My ICE cars have had remote start for this reason for about 8 years now. The straws are piling up on the camel’s back…
  6. ANYONE NOTIFIED OF SEPTEMBER DELIVERY?

It’s beginning to feel like I won’t even have a guide contact by September. My deposit date was mid Feb 2019.
  7. What is important to you from the infotainment system?

Sirius XM that connects to satellites. Seemless connection to iPhone with ability to use Siri. Route planning, vehicle metrics and ability to use phone apps like Waze. Surround camera views.
  8. Rivian Customer Service: SiriusXM Radio will not be native part of the entertainment system

Agreed. I loose signal for a mile or two every day when I drive to town, but coverage is MUCH better than cell and there is little to no terrestrial. If you’re going to be an ā€œadventure vehicleā€, commit to the idea of your customers being in far off-places. Just my .02.
  9. Backup power - replacing a gas generator for now, V2H in future?

Itā€˜s a different case if you live in a rural area. We rely on well water for cooking, bathing and sanitation. No electricity, no well pump. Yes, we have a portable generator, but having a whole-house backup for those pesky 2-8 hour outages would be great. Not running all the lights, just...
  10. If the official EPA range is....

300 is my line in the sand. I have a once a month 400 mile round-trip day trip with minimal charging support and cold winter weather for part of the year.
  11. INTERIOR feature / details just posted at Rivian.com

My phone will charge via inductive or USB-C, but my radar detector needs 12v.
  12. Interior Details!

EPA testing may be going slowly.
  13. North East roll call

    Catskills here. Hancock, NY
  14. SiriusXM Integration

Same here in NY state and PA. There are many areas without cell coverage and with minimal terrestrial radio reception. I have used Sirius/XM for well over a decade and would expect to continue using it in the RT1
  15. Someone asked....(headlights)

Here too. I’d love to hear the story about why they decided to go with such an odd look someday. It seems like a poor marketing decision to me, but I’m sure they tested it.
  16. Rivian Wall Charger--Anyone know who makes it??

I understand! V2H might obviate the need to put in a larger propane tank and buy a whole-house generator for us, wouldn’t that be nice! We don’t need to worry about running down the Rivian battery as our usual draw is very-very low and we have ICE vehicles if we need to go anywhere. ,
  17. Rivian Wall Charger--Anyone know who makes it??

Yes, and we have an 8000w ā€œportableā€ generator, it’s just a pain to drag out and hook up for short outages.. It is difficult to find a 240 volt outlet in a generator with capacity of less than 4000w.
