4g/cell service doesnāt help me much. I live in rural NY and am often out of cell service for long periods of time. I use XM to stream news stations such as CNBC, so downloading a playlist from Spotify wonāt help me either. This is supposed to be an āadventure vehicleā. It is marketed to...
I havenāt switched yet, but I likely will. My primary use cases are on-road. I have a Polaris Ranger Northstar Edition for hunting and the really rough stuff. That said, I live on a gravel road and travel many back roads here in the mountains. Cell service is spotty and I will miss the...
Itās a shame. Iām fully aware and live on an unpaved road, but will change my configuration from 20ās to 21ās because I have a use case where mileage matters and Iād like to keep my Launch Edition placeholder.
Iām a Feb 2019 preorder and itās all crickets here too. I think weāll be lucky to get deliveries sometime in early 2022 and Iām hoping we will still be ahead of the preorders. Iām also hoping that if we are delayed that long that we will have a shot at the bigger battery. It would be lovely...
How can this possibly be missing? My ICE cars have had remote start for this reason for about 8 years now. The straws are piling up on the camelās backā¦
Sirius XM that connects to satellites. Seemless connection to iPhone with ability to use Siri. Route planning, vehicle metrics and ability to use phone apps like Waze. Surround camera views.
Agreed. I loose signal for a mile or two every day when I drive to town, but coverage is MUCH better than cell and there is little to no terrestrial. If youāre going to be an āadventure vehicleā, commit to the idea of your customers being in far off-places. Just my .02.
Itās a different case if you live in a rural area. We rely on well water for cooking, bathing and sanitation. No electricity, no well pump. Yes, we have a portable generator, but having a whole-house backup for those pesky 2-8 hour outages would be great. Not running all the lights, just...
300 is my line in the sand. I have a once a month 400 mile round-trip day trip with minimal charging support and cold winter weather for part of the year.
Same here in NY state and PA. There are many areas without cell coverage and with minimal terrestrial radio reception. I have used Sirius/XM for well over a decade and would expect to continue using it in the RT1
Here too. Iād love to hear the story about why they decided to go with such an odd look someday. It seems like a poor marketing decision to me, but Iām sure they tested it.
I understand! V2H might obviate the need to put in a larger propane tank and buy a whole-house generator for us, wouldnāt that be nice! We donāt need to worry about running down the Rivian battery as our usual draw is very-very low and we have ICE vehicles if we need to go anywhere. ,
Yes, and we have an 8000w āportableā generator, itās just a pain to drag out and hook up for short outages.. It is difficult to find a 240 volt outlet in a generator with capacity of less than 4000w.
