I asked one of my GPU buddies to help, and it looks like NCA has been there since the very beginning - with the media consistently at odds with Rivian's own reporting, the report produced is around 30 pages, but the following timeline probably summarizes it best:
It's interesting that the values here don't align with the specs on the packs themselves. `Rated Capacity` in the tables matches the capacity that Rivian market the usable capacity at - which is lower than the rated capacity printed on the actual packs. Also weird that they have not specified...
I love the new app, but the notification dot at the top is inverted from how it should be. Muffin has a service appointment/active notification, not Bluey (And no itās not the cabin temp warning).
edit: just worked it out - it displays the notification dot on all ātabsā other than the one with...
Itās a bit weird.
I get that these are marketing releases, and they are not following semverv2 (or even semver like) - but come on guys - this is what a point release is for. Being told I can upgrade from one version to the same version string, with a different short git commit sha like string...
As countless others have said - the R1 (g1 quad, g2 tri and quad) are quick bricks. But at the end of the day are just that. Weight, power curves many other things factor into making a truely fast car when doing more than comparing stats and drag racing. EVs will always have an advance over ICE...

I've always been suspicious of dog shampoo (and similar products) that proudly claims to `not tested on animals` - I get what they are trying to say but.....
Fixed it for you - they do monitor them (at least the Social Media and Media Relations teams) - this is fact. (hope you take this in the lighthearted way it was intended :) ).
A good example of this in practice is when I took some photos of the factory floor several months back (though the 3...
I assume not via the same graphql api used by the app the everyone else has tagged onto (remember they are a Rivian subsidiary) - Rivian roamer has been trying to get the same access as well afaik.
It's how the yellow truck in my profile pics end began. (not at a Rivian SC - but at a 3rd party Rivian contracted for warranty paint work).
so thereās at least two of us here on this forum @Mountain Life.
or use the ABRP - which still (as of three months ago) records location and telemetry when in service mode - which found my truck at >100mph at times during a test drive.
Yup - and so great to see it back in a way we can access again. The cynic in me think's this is likley as R2 will have less 'overhead' provided than R1 does - and so people will start to see SoH impact range when at `100%` charge like most other EVs within a couple of years. I'm not aware of any...
putting aside the confusion re heat pump - itās great to see a heater specifically called out in the HV coolant loop. The omission/undersizing/placement of battery heating is whatās plagued gen2 r1 heating over the last few winters for some of us - great to see this addressed.
Sounds like Rivian again :) I purchased the lifetime subscription on the 3rd - but the app on my phone is now telling me I need to upgrade to keep autonomy+ - thankfully itās still working in the truck itself.
So Gear Guard/incident footage is not stored on the external SSD, but on the eMMC on the AXM.
Gear Guard is processed by an Ambarella CV5 SoC and, from what I can infer, is then served to the Android infotainment OS over NFS or a similar protocol (dont think they are exposing as a USB gadget...
So with the performance dual motor trim getting yellow calipers - I presume this means that the unmentioned Tri motor would eventually get `Laguna Beach` calipers and trim if/when announced.
Based on the Quad motor Gen2 R1T - we should be expecting that in around 12 months if it's still coming...
Si IGBT inverter
Where it wins @ ~400V: Peak torque, very high current
Typical outcome: Good peak efficiency, weaker real-world Wh per mile
Main downside: Higher switching loss, often lower switching frequency
SiC MOSFET inverter
Where it wins @ ~400V: Most of the drive cycle, partial load...
For context, I made my range assumptions before Rivianās 2026 Quad EPA certification packet was public. Now that the packet is out, the numbers landed very close to what I expected.
Rivian files All-Purpose and Conserve as distinct drive modes. The filed adjusted combined ranges for 2026 R1S...
@Yota2R1T Rivian has already agreed to settle, opting out doesnāt change anything. The fund is there either way. Not filing a claim just means youāre leaving money on the table.
Thereās also a practical point. The more shareholders who file, the more the pool gets spread out, which lowers the...
