+1 to this: I too have usb devices that trip the ports - and thought it was 'unfixable' - are rivian now fixing these on request or is there a service campaign etc to resolve the issue? Being able to charge my MacBook would be amazing (currently I just use the 120v outlet to use a usbc wall wart)
I just want lane change on demand on highways: which hurts as it was included and baked into the cost of almost every gen2 on the road (until they removed mobileye hardware from new builds in November last year).
So ultimately I'm looking at now paying for an alternative implementation of a...
37mph is likely the panels under the hood. I know as 37mph is when the āgpu coil whineā like noise hist my truck. They have fitted foam under the panels which makes it go away for a bit, but then the foam compresses or gets wet and it comes back. Iāve never heard this in any gen1, or any of my...
See the note in here: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/michelin-pilot-sport-s-5
Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in...
Donāt you void the warranty driving under 40f on those tires? I know the Rivian website recommends against using them bellow this temperature, and folks using them on sports cars has described them falling apart at 20f.
Itās what held me back from trying them.
Tiles are great over cracked floors provided you can fill them with something before hand (eg silka flex). I used the norsk tiles to hide ~60 years of use really effectively; race deck or Swisstrax would have been a bit less forgiving (risk of lippage over the angle changes) but still have...
Iāve been finding that the app is less reliable now than it was a year ago. Looks like no issue from the R1ās themselves (we have both gens) but potentially some caching at the back end - back in 23-24 the app was significantly more āreal timeā than say apples find my. Now id say around a couple...
Sadly can confirm re compass yellow.
Re the best interior color: go dark if you going to use it near mud, slate blue if not. (I love my slate blue until the end of any muddy ride, then regret choices.)
Iāve noticed no discernible improvement in cold weather perf in on drives in cold weather - and several downsideās to the heat pump *as implemented in gen2*:
Dampers that are not tailored to work across the operating RPMs of the compressor, and awful exterior sound dampening.
Clear...
Rivian have made similar (though unspecified amount) claims about Rivian Insurance renewal. We are almost at our third year with them - and have never been able to activate it (or get a cogent answer about where it is available etc - its been a 'new' program rolling out as long as we have been...
Unfortunately this is a known issue - and at this point seems unlikely to be fixed (even though they still advertise them as being capable of high power).
This is the reason why the charging pads upgrades for gen2 advise using at least one of the other USBC ports - and the pair of pucks on a...
Our Gen1 until the wheels fall off, our gen2 until gen4 probably - or they release an R3X in LA silver so I can lower it and put massive stance wheels on it and do a midlife crisis in style.
Its interesting they use an R1 for all of this - I wonder If this was the color causing the press shots to all be black and white, or if thereās another launch color waiting to drop for R2.
Don't expect the heat pump to make any real efficiency differences (unless winter is mid 50's where you are - and even then doubtful). The wheels/tires are the major factors here.
Normal. There is no 329 mile range driving mode, see here for an explanation with 22" wheels - but the same applies for all sizes: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/mkbhd-gen2-r1s-review.40386/post-728366
Also rivian as of today makes NO adjustment for driving habits etc - it's all...
I get confirmation of this three days a week as I drive to work - thereās a road sign thats damaged and looks more like 85 than 65 (there is no road in Mo that has an 85mph limit, though thats another story) - Muffin sees it EVERY TIME ā which makes deciding the point to enable highway assist...
the return of a green interior as well? Looks like a compliment to slate sky/new interior in this shot? (as well as pleather fabric samples in other shots).
