  1. Car camping with induction stove and espresso machine is pretty sweet

NuWave Flex has a button which you can use to set maximum wattage - 600 / 900 / 1200. Very handy if you are running other loads. Also, go get a Kill-o-Watt meter to measure usage of each device.
  2. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

Rev-B results: Huge success! Rev-B = black perforated shelf liner (Walmart bought Easy Liner Select Grip) using 3m two-sided tape on the straight parts of the perimeter of the speakers. If you look really, really, REALLY hard, you can see the faint reflection of the speaker grills. In no way...
  3. Summer RTT Camping A/C Hack for the Win

We have to "think outside the box" now that we have 133KWh of 115v/15A power available. I recently went to a "show off your camping outfit" seminar at our local Jeep club - with microwave, electric blanket, induction cooktop, Keurig coffee maker, TV... basically took a bunch of household items...
  4. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

Here's what TWraps had to say: /Quote 3) Speaker grill - I saw that on the Rivian forums but to be honest I don't think it will work out that great and likely not worth the effort to design... let me elaborate:
 a) Installing PPF dry never produces beautiful results (too many air gaps)...
  5. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

I'm sorry, I didn't notice where you live. That bright thing up in the sky (eastward in the morning, westward in the evening) is called "The Sun". When The Sun shines on things inside the cab, that brightness might reflect on the inside of the window you are looking out of. Please see the...
  6. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

Well, Rev-A: Pass, but Fail. Pass: The felt stuck on at 65mph with the windows down. Fail: Gray isn't such a good color! Next, black felt or black shelf liner. I don't think my wife will ever know I "borrowed" some from the back of the fancy plate shelves....
  7. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

If not for you, please find another thread to respond to, and quit wasting our time.
  8. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

I thought PPF would be The Answer (insert rays of sun shining down from on high..). I'm not an expert, but isn't PPF applied by wetting the surface, adjusting the PPF alignment, and squeegee-ing or letting the water backing evaporate? In any event, my Plan B: I remembered that I had some...
  9. Matte PPF for dashboard A-pillar speakers?

Please tell me that there is a PPF somewhere to cover the speakers at the dashboard A-pillars so they no longer reflect on the windshield like a heads-up display on an otherwise sunny day... With the appropriate holes in the PPF so we don't loose any of the sound, of course. Plan-B: anyone...
  10. 36A or 48A home charging?

Thanks for the replies. So is the Rivian capable of L2 charging at the 19.2Kwh of some of the higher-end garage chargers, or is 11Kwh (48A) the max for it's on-board charger?
  11. 36A or 48A home charging?

Is it any better or worse for the battery to charge slower (say, 36A/8Kwh max) or faster (48A/11Kwh max for my home charger)? During the course of overnight charging, either speed will fill my battery. Just wondering what those folks knowledgeable about this can share.
  12. Ohmmu LiFePO4 12v Batteries Now in Stock - Limited Time Offer: Free Shipping

Forum - A response from OHMMU. A long read, but if you've come this far in this thread, worth it. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this, just forwarding to the group for clarity/transparency. Note that this initial "Hi Sean" is my response to this email from Sean...
  13. Driver's Mirror mount reflections

The reflection is from the street lights/buildings/etc.. on the *passenger* side of the street!
  14. Driver's Mirror mount reflections

Fix: Matte PPF. Wait until you notice the reflection of the lower dash panel trim on the driver window when looking at that rearview mirror. When the sun is in the right (wrong?) position, that panel trim obstructs the lower part of the mirror. Don't complain about it to your wife, because she...
  15. Pet mode and the trolly question

You can vent the windows in the Rivian App on your smart phone when you get an alert.
  16. Power Tonneau Replacement - Hiding the Baloney

FWIW - I'll refrain from making any "baloney" jokes, as I find it somewhat childish. So let's Bury that Bone right away! ------- After I saw the video on the "new" Rivian tonneau (with the individual slats that take up room in the Gear Tunnel when not in use, I decided to go with the EV...
  17. Ohmmu LiFePO4 12v Batteries Now in Stock - Limited Time Offer: Free Shipping

I emailed OHMMU yesterday (6/14) AM. Nudged them today. No reply so far.... ******************** *******************
  18. 12V Questions

So far, then, I wonder if: 1) Rivian has designed the charging so that one battery (the 40% DoD @ 12.09 volts) charges, while the *other* battery services the 12 volt electrical system. Kind of a leap-frog usage of the two batteries. If this were the case, I think the two batteries would...
  19. 12V Questions

Now now... play nice kids. Please don't turn this into the Thread From Hell, as most other threads seem to invariably morph into. Let's stay on point, shall we? Would you have the data points I'm looking for on the charging system? Charging voltage range: Charging Amperage range: Charging...
  20. 12V Questions

I call that a "WIN". Everything I... er.... my buddy wanted know about what sucks down the 12 volt batteries... Thank you. NEXT: Charging system voltage / amperage: Waiting for Rivian_Germany to wake up tomorrow morning. Is battery protected from freezing temps by it's placement?
