  1. To All in the LA Fire-Affected Area: hope you are safe

Lord have mercy. That is such an important point. Mr. Jarvis and his approach to tax reform was at best ill informed. ADMINS: That’s a statement about basic economic mathematics, not politics.
  2. To All in the LA Fire-Affected Area: hope you are safe

My wife and I commented on how similar this is to the Marshall fire, except on a far more vast scale. There is nothing humanly possible that can be done when winds are that strong other than try to save as many lives as possible. It’s just weird to see so many childhood landmarks just gone...
  3. To All in the LA Fire-Affected Area: hope you are safe

I have family in Altadena (one word), my brother and sister in law who lost their home. Altadena’s demographics are far more diverse than you portray, and in all ways. But your point about insurance is so spot on. I grew up in the Palisades and seeing most of the town leveled, there are no words...
  4. My Rivian saved mine and my kids lives

Hope the wrist heals very quickly!!
  5. My Rivian saved mine and my kids lives

Skram clearly drove responsibly. It couldn’t have been only the Rivian that saved her and her children. Her driving had to have been a major part of their being okay after the accident.
  6. My Rivian saved mine and my kids lives

What a completely wonderful thing to post. Seriously!! This is so cool.
  7. My Rivian saved mine and my kids lives

So glad to hear you and the family are okay. This proves that the rating the IIHS gave this vehicle is correct and thank goodness for that!!
  8. Exploring southern Utah slot canyons over New Years

I respectfully disagree about not being able to capture the beauty. Your photos prove this point. ? Yeah, our eyeballs and brains do a better job. But seriously, your photos are pretty damned excellent. The one you just posted is John Fielder-esque!!
  9. Auto Wipers - I just don't get it

The Rivian auto wiper system is the best I have ever experienced. Had a model 3 and Y along with my wife’s model 3, and I thought their systems were really bad. I personally love the flexibility with the R1s. And with the speed with which one can scroll through the options, I don’t see how it...
  10. Drive it like you stole it, people

Well you went from one truly effing important line of work to another. I lived in the northern Willamette Valley for five years in the late 1980s, early 1990s but that was after college. What a completely gorgeous area that is, Yamhill County. And the rest of the state!!
  11. Drive it like you stole it, people

Aaaaaah, but speeding tickets are a sign of vastly better mental health!!
  12. Gear Shop Inventory

Others definitely have a longer historical perspective than do I. But I would say that is not the norm. Right after the holidays, though, I can imagine that inventory might be low. Let’s see what longer term Rivian owners have to say in response to my shorter term perspective. I have purchased...
  13. Drive it like you stole it, people

That reminded me of something said by someone with whom I went to college. “Everything in moderation. Including moderation.” ?
  14. RIVIAN saves JEEP in over his head (literally)

Did that once in my much beloved and very snow worthy 2002 XTerra. That was a splendid example of pilot error on my part. Garrison Keillor said that 4 wheel drive means you can get stuck farther into the woods. ?
  15. Heated Headlight Lenses Patent filed by Rivian

I know nothing about this kind of thing. Would condensation be eliminated with a vacuum sealed housing?
