  1. Great mobile service today

Rutiger, I just opened the app to post the exact same sentiment about a mobile service appointment I had today. Then I saw your new post. ? This was for a 7,500 mile service. Brandon, the Rivian tech, was early and kept me updated on his evolving ETA. He was a great guy, very professional, and...
  2. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Solution is Coming Soon... (seriously) -- by EV Play

I would love an a-WOO-gah lock sound. Just kind of technologically bookend-ish to one of the planet’s most technologically advanced vehicles. ?
  3. 2024.51.0 spotted

I’ve never seen response time problems. From time to time the screen’s sensitivity to touch commands seems to be low. But that could also be my simply not hitting a button correctly.
  4. 2024.51.0 spotted

I just completed the code for a combination of these two apps to help save everyone’s time on these posts. The new product is called Road Apple. Hold on, I’m getting a call from my attorney…

Best of luck with this. Hope this works out!!
  6. 2024.51

Bummer. Neither my wife nor I have seen any of that kind of thing. We’re both on iPhones. This is more than likely a dumb question - Have you tried fully removing the app from your phone and reinstalling? Not sure if that’s what “killing the app” means.
  7. 2024.51

I’m still hoping for the return of street names on the driver’s screen navigation map.
  8. 2024.51

I have had zero problems with the app over the past year. I think the app is excellent. What problems have you had with it?
  9. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Solution is Coming Soon... (seriously) -- by EV Play

Irrespective of my personal level of interest in the product, the innovative character of it is really cool. I do wonder about the warranty implications even with whatever laws are out there in various states about making changes to vehicles. If I we’re Rivian I’d be giving you a phone call to...
  10. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Solution is Coming Soon... (seriously) -- by EV Play

Back when I was a young’un, we didn’t have any access to CarPlay, and uphill both ways!! I remember my paw used to say that all he really wanted was a pony.
  11. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Solution is Coming Soon... (seriously) -- by EV Play

If it were a “woman in the middle” device it would likely work the first time even when the “man in the middle” device takes all the credit.
  12. R1T spinning out on Donner pass

Well if one completely spins out on Donner Pass, the barrier is not the only thing that’s going to be eaten!! Your passenger and just a touch of tarragon?? ?
  13. R1T spinning out on Donner pass

Mine ain’t. Snowy Colorado mountain passes have been completely subdued by the vehicle.
  14. R1T spinning out on Donner pass

FDD, ditto on Nokians!! Hakkapeliitta 10s on my wife’s R1S non-performance. The vehicle-tire combo has zero regard for the notion of “slippery”.
  15. Does Rivian have what it takes to survive?

We have an R2 reservation about which my wife and I are stoked. I would buy it now if it were available. All I would need is a 9th mortgage and to set up a few GoFundMe’s. I had shoulder surgery a month ago and can’t drive. I miss driving both our R1T and R1S. I realize that is a “problem” that...
  16. Does Rivian have what it takes to survive?

I know that folks have posted about the poor experiences they have had with service. I have had on a consistent basis the absolutely opposite experience. Having said that, I don’t have a large sample size. I had one problem with my R1T over the last 13 months and that was the gear guard cable...

What’s really cool about this is that there is also a pixie dust plugin, and if you play the bassoon, you automatically win the Bulgarian National Lottery.

Does Rivian have what it takes to survive? YES
  19. To All in the LA Fire-Affected Area: hope you are safe

Amen. I don’t know that there are categories for fires as there are fire hurricanes - I don’t think there are. The palisades and Eaton fires one would probably equivalent to a category 4 or 5. That’s not about the category 1 and 2 strength winds that occurred. Rather about the collective impact...
