In Carwow video while charging, the R2 showed 215 mile range with 73% charge. That would math out to 295 mile at 100%. It is just impossible to know exactly how these people were driving. My honest feeling, the launch model EPA range with fall between 300-310. Just in line with Model Y Perf.

If it was a sticker on the vehicle it should be the gross capacity, not usable. 95kwh with 87.4kwh usable, is an 8% buffer. That would be about double of what Rivian normally does.

These are battery capacity numbers I keep seeing. Apparently some of the R2's had a sticker on them saying 87.4 kwh gross capacity. That is a lot lower than I expected for large pack.

Another question I have is how stripped out is the $45k model? We know it is smaller battery pack and RWD. But are those features the only cost cutting measures?

Looks like the Launch Ed is Dual-motor, Large Pack, with possibly Performance Upgrade. Specs are too close to Model Y Perf not to be. Going by R1 pricing for battery upgrade($7k), perf upgrade($5k). Plus adding dual-motor cost over the base R2 $45k RWD model. I could see Launch Ed coming in...

The charging session was from 19-83%. The screen said the R2 took in 39.1 kwh. Also said 39.1 kwh was equal to 181 mile range. While charging they flashed the drivers display, it read 74% was 215 mile range. Was he charging the small pack?

I hope no one actual thinks they are getting anywhere near 4.93m/kwh in a R2. A minute later in that video when he is showing screens and menus, the efficiency said 3.1m/kwh. A lot more realistic.

It feels like anything over $55k is the tipping point for R2 Dual-motor Large pack.

BMW's are also primarily leased, their EVs even more so. They usually have some best lease programs in luxury segments. I wouldn't be surprised if it is cheaper to lease iX3 than mid range spec R2.
