Not necessarily on Rivian but wish there was a simpler way to have bed crossbars even with the cab ones. Something like https://yakima.com/products/overhaul-hd-system that's relatively easy to get on and off since I really only need to use it a few times a year.
Since you mentioned chargers specifically, check with your local electric utility, a lot offer significant rebates on particular models. May even have a referral system for installers as well if you don't know where to start.
Not trying to say Rivian has a good level of service, more so, temper your expectations on the traditional dealers. I have numerous Ford dealers around me, but for the first year or two of EV ownership only 2 were competent at it. You'd still be waiting at least a month or longer (it was 4+...
As many of us learned with Ford, just because they sell it, doesn't mean many dealers are equipped/trained to fix it. (or parts available either). Does look neat though.
Congrats! +1 to the Portland Service Center folks from me too. Ordered a spare tire ahead of my recent trip to Bend (coming down from Seattle), original appointment would have been to pick it up on the way back, but it arrived early and they were able to squeeze me into the schedule.
At a ~6% interest rate, nobody I know wants to buy a new car, period. Just look at the lease deals a few months back. They cleared out all the inventory (I wasn't even planning to upgrade and it convinced me)
I had a lot of issues even getting my desktop app to sync with the phone, sometimes even adding something to a playlist in general would fail. Try toggling the "sync library" setting in-app on your phone off and on again, that seems to have resolved my issues across devices.
They wouldn't be making the changes if it didn't save them money :) But they have continually slipped from their electrification plans a few years ago. Outside BEV, for the US they still only have 1 Ford brand PHEV (yes a couple more as Lincoln) and no sign of a Ranger/Bronco hybrid even though...
And this is why I traded in my Mach E for a Rivian. Needed something bigger but Ford is cutting back all their plans. Wasn't going to wait around for them.
I've been having a heck of a time getting Apple Music to handle playlists across devices, even just pc to phone. The recommendation was to go into the app settings and manually cycle the "sync library" setting to get things unstuck. Hopefully that helps someone.
That actually might be helpful, shows only a handful of the trails on the map which does make me think they're more for quads. That or they just haven't mapped it all out :P
Hey all, been looking for places I can take the Rivian. This is one area I checked out, seemed narrow/atv focused though. Hoping someone here might know how to decipher the maps or have other suggestions https://www.blm.gov/visit/barr-north-staging-area
There was so much discussion about the "acceleration sounds" in the cabin of the Mach E. Personally I liked them, helped keep the motion sickness at bay since you had that feedback of going faster, but a lot of folks turned it off.
Crazy, when I ordered my Mach E it was a complete black hole of information, nothing for months until the build week happened, then another gap till it arrived at the dealer. (glad it improved though)
It reduces manufacturing and repair complexity significantly if it's all the same physical part. I wouldn't like the idea of my car weighing more than it needs too, but if they use that reserve smartly as a buffer it could also help a bit with long term life.
Even running on (nearly) the same hardware, your vehicle could be in thousands of possible configurations when the updates run. Good design will of course minimize the risk, but it's just not feasible to test every single combination of states. (And I'll add, in my experiences with other OEMs...
