I tried to tell people to get ahead of the rush and buy one (also available from Lectron) for $200 but was derided as a shill on this forum. Sigh. Anyways no doubt both A2Z and Lectron have sizable backlogs of their own to work through. I ordered my A2Z adapter in earlish January and still...
I’m not surprised if Tesla is not adding busy v3 sites to the eligible site list. This makes sense. Good thing Tesla is furiously building and expanding sites!
I agree, but Rivian has shown itself to be quite capable of making bad financial decisions ?.
From their X posting on 6/20/23:
“Vehicles built with the CCS charge ports will get a free NACS adapter, with additional adapters available for purchase in our Gear Shop.”
Thanks. I thought my initial post had tons of disclaimers and was frankly anti-selling the adapter. But apparently not.
DON'T BUY THIS ADAPTER. IT PROBABLY WON'T WORK.
Edit: Look, I've been buying crazy adapters, J1772 extenders, 120V combiners and making my own adapters since 2013. I even...
A small Canadian EV adapter manufacturer has started shipping their Tesla Supercharger NACS to CCS adapter. You cannot use this adapter yet since Tesla hasn't turned on non Tesla access to non-Magic Dock Tesla Superchargers YET. The manufacturer states that their adapter WILL work with V3/V4...
"VW got back to us about whether or not the automaker would offer this tech in the U.S. It looks as if it won’t be coming to ID models here in the U.S. with the rep saying that this technology is a Europe only release. "
The car's charger has to boost whatever voltage it gets to around 350V pack voltage, and certainly it can accept 120V, so there is no reason for it to complain about 192V. And yes, I can absolutely believe the voltage sag is that bad. That 208V circuit is probably very long back to the panel...
For 2025, sure, Tesla will produce lots of CTs. It isn't clear how slow the production ramp will be for 2024. I fully expect R1T and Lightning each to outsell CT in 1Q24 and maybe even in 2Q24. I'm a minority opinion in the Tesla community, but I suspect Tesla will slow roll their ramp to catch...
Right? Rolling Stone is owned/controlled by Penske which really makes their money from ICE dealerships and truck rentals. They are economically opposed to all things Tesla (and Rivian for that matter). This isn’t the first time RS has written an ideological hit piece and it won’t be the last.
If I was to summarize, first, Lightning and R1T have sold in about equal numbers. The Ford dealer "experience", with hassles and markups has been a deterrent. Ford got the range/pricing/trim combo wrong and just fixed that with the 2024 Flash trim (although this might have been intentional on...
Yeah, I just heard a Ford ad on the TV touting various pickup options. Towards the end, they showed and quickly talked about the Lightning's household backup power option. Made it sound and look cool. I would bet that everyone that walks into a Ford dealership asking about that option gets told...
Yeah, sorry guys, my big oops. I messed up delivery numbers, looks like Lightning sales in 2023 through 3Q23 was about 12,000, while Rivian delivered about 35,000 total vehicles in the same period, so a rough guess is the same number of R1T and Lightnings sold this year.
Still, impressive that...
