I have a close friend that worked at Rivian before the layoffs. I was in the early stages of buying my R1S so I asked if the refresh was worth waiting for. He said to not let it hold me back so I went ahead with my purchase.
He was pretty tight lipped but mentioned it was mostly manufacturing...
It's a reflection of society today. Nobody is willing to accept being wrong about anything so they justify their beliefs by surrounding themselves with similar thinking people and only get their news from echo chambers. It's the same for politics, flat earthers, etc. More or less what the Tesla...
I've watched a few of the reviews on the EV9. One of the things that would absolutely bug me is that the safety settings and other small nitpicks you program, reset to default every time you get in. That would absolutely drive me bonkers. I don't know if that has changed yet or not. Also, the...
There’s an option to disable it at home. The car is very technical, there are a lot of good tips and directions in the manual. I would recommend studying it thoroughly as it’s very different from a normal car.
I don't think if anybody knows if they were tied somehow to the Tesla supercharger team being laid off. Could be they were responsible for handling PO's from other OEMs, or other things.
I missed it if it was posted though, did anybody confirm that these were indeed being made for/distributed...
It use to be you were rewarded for being a loyal customer with no accidents. I could have probably replace all my cars 10 times over by now from payments to insurance, but that's never looked at anymore. They don't care about your loyalty and you shouldn't treat them like they do. It's good...
Sounds like everything is done correctly then. Might just be the hot day. Probably wouldn't hurt to re-torque the connection lugs as they can loosen over time with use and temp changes.
I went to school with someone of the same name and he's neither one of these guys, lol. My point being it's not an unusual name. Agree, if he's the only one saying that he received this email, then this is a nothingburger.
Unfortunately, poor grammar doesn't make someone incorrect. I assume Rivian is perfectly capable of knowing who has an adapter that was sent to them and who would be charging on a supercharger that did not receive an adapter. Worth verifying with the larger community here though. That said, he...
Just wanted to verify here on the forums, but someone recently posted on Facebook that they received an email from Rivian stating that Rivian was aware they were using an aftermarket NACS adapter and that it would void their warranty if they continued using it.
Anybody else get an email like...
6awg is good enough for a 48amp hardwired charge setup on a 60amp breaker. Surprising it's heating up for your setup.
Was this existing or installed for you. If installed, is the wire aluminum or copper? Is it a continuous run or was it spliced in a junction somewhere? What's the brand of the...
Makes sense they would need to hire some of the team back. There was too much lost information that can't be sorted out just by throwing new people on it. I've seen it on a few teams so far. People with specific roles that actually made the company more than they cost, were cut, losing valuable...
Fun fact, Henrik Fisker was hired by Tesla to design the Model S. He left the company afterwards and released the Karma. Apparently Elon was upset that it looked better than the Model S they brought him in to design. lol
It always amazes me that places like Buc-ee's or large rest stops aren't all over adding endless stalls of superchargers or DCFC. You're more likely to gain retail sales from someone that will be parked there for 20-30 minutes versus someone pumping gas for only a few.
