  1. Cybertruck can power your home ?

Yeah, I would have bought it for my Rivian had it been available when I got mine. That Powershare capability is a nice addition too but that currently only works with the Tesla Cybertruck.
  2. Cybertruck can power your home ?

The CT does indeed have a bidirectional charger. It's how they can do the Powershare thing. 11.5 kW AC out of the truck's NACS port (same max power it can charge at on AC power) into an appropriate Powershare Mobile Connector (which we haven't see yet, just a mention of it on Tesla's website)...
  3. Why R1T outselling Lightning 4-1?

Let's see, Ford has massive distribution, a dealer on every corner, a 100 year old brand vs a startup with no distribution and scattered service centers, yet Rivian is massively outselling the Lightning? Why? Edit: I messed up on the number - while Rivian doesn't break out sales numbers per...
  4. Just got this update notice…

Yeah, sorry! Yes, R1S works great after the update.
  5. Just got this update notice…

Dunno, just feeling like I’ll wait a bit before installing it! ?
  6. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

Sorry to hear, thanks for the report, and thanks for the laugh about your roasted backside! And gawd, the rest of you piling onto the frozen kids, stop it with the holier than thou sentiments. It isn't a good look. You weren't there. Socal kids normally dress in shorts and t-shirts, so 50...
  7. No Rivian is not raising $15B for Georgia plant

The structure of this financing is a bit convoluted. Link to the SEC filing. And spoiler alert: This is NOT Rivian borrowing $15B. First, this is all as a result of the Economic Development Agreement with these parties: Rivian will actually rent the land and all buildings and machinery for...
  8. Unable to Fast Charge - Anyone seen this before?

IIRC there was a software interaction issue between the Rivian’s software and some EA chargers in that the EA charger would do something that the Rivian didn’t like and it would end up locking the Rivian software into a permanent no fast charge mode until reset by service techs.
  9. RIVN announces new debt offering of $1.5B convertible senior notes

Wow I missed all that. So was Amazon’s contract that crappy for them? Is Amazon backing away from electrifying their fleet?
  10. RIVN announces new debt offering of $1.5B convertible senior notes

Wow. So then that begs the question, why isn’t Rivian pumping out tons more RDVs?
  11. The NACS adapter to use the supercharger network is here

Not sure what this A2Z company is all, about since they don’t say they are a Tesla licensee, meanwhile, giant manufacturer Volex says they are: https://a2zevshop.com/en-us/products/nacs-ccs1 https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-licenses-nacs-connector-volex/
  12. Rookie Question: Can the rivian use chargers from other manufacturers?

The answer is YES, no need for your portable charger. Do you have your home charging situation figured out? I’ll also give a shout out to ABetterRoutePlanner.com to plan out long distance trips to find charging along your route (you want CCS chargers for fast charging while traveling).
  13. Charging in Mammoth Lakes, CA

The only thing I can suggest is if you are renting a condo with access to a 20A receptacle, buy a Tesla Mobile Connector and the NEMA 5-20 adapter and a Tesla to J1772 adapter. It’ll allow charging at 16A rather than 12A and it’ll make a difference in the winter. Hilton hotels will supposedly...
  14. Tesla to install charging stations at 2,000 Hiltons in North America

They are installing Tesla’s Universal Wall Chargers, which has both J1772 and Tesla connectors on them. Around six per hotel. Nice!
  15. Need Charging Help

It took me a while to figure out timed charging. It wasn’t intuitively obvious for me. Play around with the time window.
