I built a shower in my Sprinter van using 1/4 inch marine mahogany plywood. I coated the plywood with 3 layers of clear epoxy resin. 7 years and lots of use and the shower walls look new. Clear epoxy is expensive but very durable. I'm not sure how the wood and epoxy would hold up to UV...
I have the same problem with 1300 miles on the Wildpeaks. I've had them balanced 3 times. Last balance almost fixed the vibration but now, 500+ miles since the last balance, the steering wheel vibration is back and worse then ever. I'm going to give up on the Wildpeaks after this winter...
I have the 1 Up that I move from my Sprinter van to the R1T when I'm on a long trip. The 1 Up has 2 trays and one of them I have set up to carry my Fat Tire electric bike the other carries my Mountain bike. I also use the Rack Attach so I can swing everything to the side when needed. When...
I was behind a car with a bike hung on a rack that allowed the wheels to spin from the wind blowing through the spokes. My display showed a pedestrian walking just ahead of me. That "stick figure" stayed right there, walking at the same pace, no matter how fast I drove., 0 to 50MPH that stick...
I have always noticed the tendency to be too close to a passing vehicle. The problem is if I'm in the right lane and a truck is passing me on the left. Sometimes the side to side distance is on the verge of being dangerous. I have grown used to it so I'm always ready to turn the system off...
I get it all the time on the interstate when passing slow moving Semi trucks, especially in a left curve with the truck in the right lane, me passing on the left. I think the forward looking Rivian system thinks you are about to run into the vehicle in front and it brakes very aggressively. I...
You will have to buy another Rivian and depending on where you want to park you will have to select the correct vehicle to drive that day. With the second Rivian you can now program 50 doors so you might have to stencil the available doors on the side of the vehicle to make sure you drive the...
I have the original 21 Inch Rivian wheels and tires and averaged 2.48 mi/kwh. over 6000 miles. Swapped them for 2363 20 inch wheels with WildPeak tires. After 900 miles my average is 1.83 mi/kwh. About a 25% decrease in range. I think the loss is a combination of tires and cold temps...
I have an old 1/2 inch wide wood chisel I used and now keep with the jack in the truck. The thin edge can be tapped under the edge of the centering ring so it can be pried off. Break it loose and slowly work your way around the ring until it comes off. The anti seize is important.
Also, I would verify that the bolts that were sent with the kit all have the proper thread pitch. Take one of the bolts that went in easily and compare it to a bolt that did not go in. If the pitch is the same you are good. I only say this because from your picture it looks like maybe the the...
Looking at your picture it appears that you have plenty of thread left in the nut to easily fix this problem. The easy fix is to get the correct Tap tool, with proper thread pitch and diameter, and re-tap the nut. This can be done with an inexpensive hand tool, like 20 bucks. I'm guessing...
The WildPeaks work just OK but after years of driving on dedicated snow tires I've become lazy. I just need to slow down and increase my following distance more than usual. This is a bad time of year to be buying snow tires, they can be difficult to find so I may just ride out this winter on...
When you get several hundred miles on the X-ice tires will you please post what your average range is compared to the original 21" Scorpions. I'm not thrilled with the snow performance of the WildPeaks on my Dodge wheels and would consider selling them to replace with Ice-X tires if the range...
My Rivian was pre-price hike so I only paid 74K. I sold my 2001 Chevy 3/4 ton PU for $16K which was double what I paid for it used in 2016. I need a truck and the Rivian fits that need, plus I sold a 10 year old Subaru Outback. The Rivian fills both those needs so I saved insurance money by...
USAA financed 55K of my Rivian at 4.2%. I make a monthly payment from an investment account that has earned on average 8.5% every month for the last 4 years. After paying taxes on the withdrawals it ends up being about a wash on the money used to pay for the Rivian. You will certainly lose...
The dodge senders were the kind that are pressed in, or rather pulled into the wheel. I tried to salvage the first one but could not do it so just pulled all of them out destroying them in the process. I bought the ones from amazon then borrowed the program tool to reprogram. Easy to...
Thanks, I've experienced it on every road surface I have driven on. I will just run them all winter and wear them down some to see what happens. I have lost about 25% of my range with the Wild Peaks compared to the original tires. 1.88 m/KwH average compared to 2.48 m/KwH. I'm sure it's a...
Now that there are more than a few people running tires on the Dodge wheels and winter is upon us I have a question. I have WildPeak tires mounted to Dodge wheels and I have about 600 miles on them. When I drive at interstate speeds, starting at about 50MPH, I start to get a shimmy in the...
