Nice trip report and observations on the R1T. And thanks all for the hike recommendations! I've yet to take a long enough trip that charging was required so these details are helpful. As for the Rivian nav - it's just not at the level of Google at all and I use Waze as a "nav source of truth"...
^This setup does allow one passenger who loves dogs to be part of the back row by clicking in belt via an access on the hammock. Or in a rush I just put the chairs in...
Cool approach to limit access and contain your pet. We have smaller dogs and use an Amazon hammock setup with two dog "chairs" that dogs sit in, with harnesses on and fastened to LATCH connectors. It's pretty fast to take in and out, but dog hair proves that entropy exists and gets everywhere...
Nice writeup! Another satisfied 2024 R1T AT Large Pack DM owner here (but I did find one with the Performance option). Still loving it after 2+ months.

You’ll need a lot of gravel. A lot. Probably more than you could easily get back there. Instead a shovel and clearing out a ramp where you are dug in, then using recovery boards are one way to self recover. A winched vehicle connected to a recovery strap attached to a hitch pin in the...
No such issues with my Emporia charger which is outside in direct sunlight (as is the R1T) during a blazing hot July this year. I charge during the day BTW.
