In a previous communication they said that Guide contact signals the final order process.
@AdamL - just curious given the form discussion, are you good to go? Is there anything you need to see prior to locking in your order?
Or, just playing Rivian advocate here... there's a lot of people that are worried about the price and don't need it.
I'm curious about the reasons too but also trying to take what they've actually said with some amount of truth.
The range comment in their projected range give that theory...
Same here. I was going to get the Gear Shuttle anyway but now with the Snow Peak stuff included I went for it (for now). Incremental is 3,500 and the Snow Peak stuff priced out is several hundred.
As far as the power to the Gear Shuttle goes. They now mention integrated power plugs with covers...
Considering the limited supply of Rivian accessories will likely be going to new purchases, I'd think twice about not getting the "Rivian" only type things like cross bars, kitchen, etc. if its something that you want and will just get after you purchase. But hopefully by 2022, there will be...
Here's a thought, what if it all just starts happening and there is no big reveal. They did promise to do an interior walk through but no one (from Rivian) ever said it was going to be before production started. Same with test drives, etc. It would be nice for an update, not gonna lie. But all...
At this point, I really want to know when the first deliveries will happen so that someone at the front of the line will do a detailed walk through and try to answer all these questions. The only thing Rivian can keep people in suspense about after that will be software related updates.
Rivian is paying and hiring more people do basically just do deliveries. Just a guess but they wouldn't have people on the payroll if they can't do the job for many more months.
At the end of 2022, they probably will start to have production meet demand so at that point, they will need to increase the timeline in the order finalization process as only at that point they risk having inventory sit on a lot somewhere.
Think of it this way. They show that there are 10 people in the Chicago area with the configurator set for blue ext white int. They produce 10 in blue ext/white int. If a few people refuse delivery, they set them to the side and they just go on the next truck to the next location. There are...
Guys... I seriously doubt that this is how Rivian would break that news.
Think about the headline -
Rivian's Director of Looking Cool and Driving Fast posts on the IG some vague timelines. Luckily, some Forum users figured it out that it is a production delay.
What kind of minimum lead time do you think the Guides need to provide to the first order holders?
There aren't that many options and they already stated that config is one of the variables for deliveries. There's plenty of demand vs. production capacity so if you end up wanting to wait for a...
Just tried myself and it's still present. To me, this might be a bug for a new code push that hasn't be activated... something like more accessories perhaps?
edit - reported to CS
To me, they've been telegraphing it for a long time. They are going where people live. Rivian's selling a rather expensive vehicle and they are going to the areas with the most high income buyers to attract. Long term, I'm sure they'll do some stuff at adventure destinations but over the next...
lol, there are hints of progress on all the digital stuff for the vehicle (app, car diagnostics) plus factory integrations (i.e., get more supplies, send diagnostics to vendors) but nothing that could actually be confirmed/newsworthy.
