Congrats! I think you made a good choice. I’ve had a quad motor R1T for about a year and recently drove a brand new dual motor max pack R1S for four days (loaner while the T was being repaired for some minor items). The loaner had less than 130 miles on it and I was excited to try it out because...
I hope someone makes an R2D2 decal that goes over the headlights. I also have a feeling that a meme with Luke screaming “R2!” may appear with some frequency in this forum.
Cool let me know how it goes. It might take a few attempts. In my case the rear (towards the tail gate) needed to be lower. Not sure if this might be due to variations in Rivian build quality from vehicle to vehicle. I never could get the right rail to fit exactly as nicely as the left rail...
Thanks! I installed this months ago and realized I had to adjust the rails a few times to lower the cover so that the rain doesn’t get in. A couple weeks ago I drove through pouring rain on a 4 hour road trip and not a single drop got in the bed. Really impressed with the cover.
I remember seeing the message repeatedly about how confirming my order means the deposit is non-refundable. They make no promises on delivery date unfortunately. I’m sorry to hear about your experience though.
Not in my experience with the R1T I took delivery of in March 2023. I have it plugged in while I’m out of town and after initially charging and stopping, the phantom drain will take SOC well below the set point unless I wake the truck up with the app or I show up in person to wake up the truck.
Why does your charger stop charging and then need to start again? If the car is fully charged when it stops why do you need it to start again? Do you have an external power shutoff that cuts power to the charger?
Open the spare tire compartment and look under the lid. It has the Rivian logo. The differential thickness of the plastic there produces the frost pattern on top.

Did the car have electronic brake control at the time that failed as well? I’m trying to understand how the engine overpowered the brakes. Most ICE vehicles have a stopping time and distance significantly shorter than the car can accelerate, indicating that braking power is much higher than the...
Sorry to hear about your R1S. Unfortunately this is the risk we take as relatively early adopters of a fledgling EV company. After buying my R1T I decided to keep my ICE car as a backup because I think there’s a good chance I’ll need it. That said, I love the Rivian brand and love driving the...
Funny how you have to qualify your question against the response trolls who claim people posting questions are trolls. Nicely done and I like your question.
I think this is a common misconception of the regulation. As long as you have fixed brake lights you can also have brake lights on a movable part of the vehicle. There was a thread discussing this last year:
