Thank you! I like this one being a whole kit.
I actually got the 30' recovery strap kit, not 20'. In researching this I learned there is a difference between a recovery strap and a tow strap. Recovery strap is for someone who is stuck, and you are trying to get them unstuck. Tow strap is for towing - ie. not stuck. Tow straps are much cheaper, so I got one of them also. Just want to make sure I have right strap if I need to help someone.

I've used this Sheridan hitch skid for probably 5 years of offroading with my ZR2 before the Rivian came along, and its transferred over nicely. I like that the wider plate helps protect the chain rings and electrical plug, but it looks like some other cool options have hit the market since then:
- Sheridan Hitch skids – WarFabInc (warfabarmor.com) Good bevelling on the eye, suitable for both hard and soft shackles. Can confirm it will survive years of abuse and many many hard pulls.
- Torq Hitch Skid Plate — 4Runner Lifestyle I really like this one too, but I'd definitely want to round the eye before using this with soft shackles.
- Hitch Slider - 41.22 Inc. (41twentytwo.com) I'm a fan of the minimalist look but from my experience (and scratches on my sheridan) you may end up with some bent chain tabs.
- Universal Hitch Skid | DRT Fabrication (drt-fabrication.com) looks fancy

Here's a pic of the sheridan on the truck: (ASR 7/8" x 30' recovery rope for reference, 7/8" Ultimate Kinetic Recovery Rope (28,300 lb MTS, 9,000 lb WLL) - ASR Offroad )

Nice. That DRT one looks beefy.

Not experienced, but I thought this design looks interesting. Curious for thoughts.

This link is a bit over a month old but, I just saw it and I got to say; I think that's a pretty cool approach. They are making it different than anyone else and it's cool to see another way 'to skin the cat'.

I have a Factor55 HitchLink Pro 2.0 and have quite a bit of Factor55 stuff. Can't go wrong with their stuff but, I'm certainly not discounting Brennan's either.

Thanks for sharing. I noticed the Sheridan comes in two sizes, standard and short. Is the one on your truck standard? If so, do you think the short one would fit or would the ring hit the license plate?
