I was at the SSF SC for a first drive recently and afterwards the guide pulled the car up to one of those chargers and plugged in. He told me it was because I was the last customer of the day. I didn’t see him use NFC card but then again I was only partly paying attention since I was checking...
What’s unclear is whether everyone who gets to configure their vehicle also receives an email with access to the shop within the same few days that I experienced. Maybe there is a prioritization here. So for example, maybe I got access to the Shop pretty quickly because I’ve been waiting 9...
The process that I experienced was as follows:
(1) place reservation with $1k deposit
(2) get an email with access to configure your vehicle
(3) after confirming your configuration you receive another email giving you access to the Shop where you can select a pre-existing configuration which...
Wow you got an email to configure your R1T after only a few days of placing the reservation?! I waited 9 months until finally getting the email a few days ago and I’m sure that’s still a lot less than some other folks have waited. @Atlrivian could be right. Maybe the backlog has finally been...
A terrible set of experiences with 12 volt battery failures documented in this YouTube video.
What are your thoughts on their complaints about Rivian CS claiming “certified tow trucks” and charging owners for what should be covered under warranty?
Do you think 12V issues is Rivian’s biggest...

For sure ad revenue is how this site makes money. With concise question/answer info, Google searches should drive a lot of traffic to the site, perhaps away from competitors. I’m guessing there’s some first mover advantage here though it would be a gamble for sure.

Does anyone know if the R1 vehicles will automatically accept charge from an EVSE when power is restored after an outage? For example the EnelX Juicebox or ChargePoint HomeFlex will automatically restart and try to send charge to the connected vehicle after power is restored after an outage...
Nope it’s only either or. As soon as you remove the AT upgrade you’re forced to select 21 or 22 wheels and vice versa. RUS is no longer selectable on the next page. It just doesn’t even show up.
Here you go. If you select the all terrain upgrade then only the 20 inch wheels are available. Vice versa if you unselect the package. Only the 21 and 22s are available and there are no spare tire or underbody shield options separately.
Personally for me a thread starts becoming too long to look through after it’s about 3 to 4 pages. That could be the trigger for ChatGPT to summarize what’s there and subsequent triggers would be with each full page of responses. As a thread lengthens there may not be any new information or...
