almost every OEM has weak tie rods. Raptors snop them, Wranglers snap them, TRX's snap them. We recently saw a Cybertruck snap one. If you're off roading and you push your vehicle too far, it's going to break.
It was my wife that had to convince me to move from Texas. I had my dream home with a heavily treed acre and a micro brewery as a back yard neighbor. I got free beer all the time for not complaining about the noise on the weekends.
BUT, now in Colorado I’ve got Mountain Views, a 3 car garage...
Some nice updates. Nothing Earth shattering but still nice updates.
That said, where are our subscription services? I’d like Rivian to reduce the cash hemoraging and they have to be paying for everyone’s ATT connection, at a minimum. Let’s get that revenue source moving guys.
<obligatory> Oh...
I’ve sat in a Lucid a couple times and frankly I love the interior. My only beef with the design is the massive windshield/roof. I don’t really care for the glass roof on the Rivian either.
I haven’t bothered driving it. I’m not getting a sedan. But I will seriously consider the Gravity when...
CarPlay and Waze (or Google Maps). Then I’ll shutup about CarPlay.
That being said, I got the update last night. I’m really looking forward to driving later this evening.
I kinda wish they had kept the $1000 reservation requirement. That usually signals someone with real intent to buy. How many folks put down a $100 reservation on the CyberTruck with no real intent to buy. Not that there are any CTs available for the masses anyways.
Now that’s what I call an update. Massive UI improvements. I can’t wait to try them out.
This is so good, I’m not even gonna mention the lack of CarPlay support this time… oops. ?
The video goes into the differences.
Basically better side blocks, thicker sidewalls, different rubber material, revised tread.
The problem for EVs is that it's a pretty heavy tire. The Pirelli AT is 48lbs while the Falken is 65.3lbs. I'm keeping an eye open for the Toyo's as well. Those...
In Conserve Mode he achieved 1.85mi/kWh compared to 2.09mi/kWh
He had a Thule roof rack and an iKamper tent on the back when he tested with both tires. So the Pirelli still wins on efficiency. Of course the Falkens are very much more capable off road and they show to be a lot more durable...
I want to see 400 miles range on the mid range battery pack. 300 miles for the smallest pack. I think an 800v architecture is a given at this point, so we should see much faster charging times. Beyond that, I predict the following
No air suspension but still have at least 11" of clearance...
I know it exists, but I don't know the numbers. There aren't enough available Tesla chargers available to my Rivian to bother with a subscription. I'll very likely subscribe once Tesla's network is fully opened to Rivian vehicles.
Yesterday I was out for my son’s birthday. Drove all over the place and found my truck at 19% SoC with a decent distance left to drive home. Fortunately there was a relatively new Tesla Supercharger, at nearby Northglenn, CO, with a Magic Dock. So I set it on my nav to begin preconditioning and...
