  1. FM Antenna Cable

Has anyone traced the FM Antenna cable (presumably through the passenger side A pillar) to the infotainment center/unit? Contemplating adding an FM Direct Adapter (FMDA) to my SXM radio to reduce static and bleed over. Cell connectivity is rather poor so the SXM cell phone app is not an answer.
  2. Better Clock Position

The night screen has a large full moon. Wouldn’t that be a great spot for an analogue clock?
  3. Better Clock Position

Several years ago when I got my LE R1T I made this suggestion to Rivian. So far silence. I am not holding my breath. It is really a safety issue for the driver to remove their vision from the road to find and focus on the minuscule clock. Worst clock on any car I have owned or rented. Come on...
  4. Home Charging Error Message

Thanks for the suggestion to check the lugs, terminals and connections. They all appear to be securely tight and no evidence of arching or overheating. Because it is not possible to inspect the interior of the Nema receptacle, nor for that matter the Wallbox plug, out of an over abundance of...
  5. Home Charging Error Message

Does anyone else have this problem? Over three years I have charged two R1T’s at home with a Wallbox 40 amp charger, 50 amp circuit, R1T’s set at 36 amps to avoid any overheating with no problems whatsoever. With the latest update (2025.18.01), installed yesterday, my charging stops with an...
  6. Overheat Protection Needed

Having lived in Arizona since before dirt, both the hot and cold areas, there are several things I always do during the Summer months regardless of whether I am driving my R1T or an ICE car. First, use an insulated silver front window/dash screen. Second, use a similar screen for the roof glass...
  7. Half-Shaft issue thread

My LE QM R1T started having problems at 3,000 miles. At 12,000 miles Rivian finally took it back. Apparently driving back and forth to the grocery store on city streets was too much for it.
  8. Half-Shaft issue thread

When Rivian finally agreed to replace my LE QM R1T for this problem I was adamant that the replacement vehicle be a DM R1T not another QM. My thought process was that the DM was based on a more traditional type differential system front and rear.and would hopefully not suffer from the same...
  9. SiriusXM to Launch in Rivian Vehicles in 2024

Agree. But that would require Rivian opening up their Bluetooth access which I doubt they will do.
  10. Dual Motor All Purpose not smooth now

Thanks for the input but while my DM R1T only has 7,000 miles I believe it has early stage dementia. Both its short term and long term memory are rather poor and it is not limited to the “Auto” function. Radio on/off settings are also erratic. I have tried to find a pattern (such as the four...
  11. SiriusXM to Launch in Rivian Vehicles in 2024

Have not heard of any such plans. I added SXM to my R1T through the FM adapter method. Very happy with it but finding an interference free frequency when traveling can be challenging at times.
  12. Dual Motor All Purpose not smooth now

R1T DM. I turn “Auto” off and TC to “Reduced.” No warning appears on the instrument panel. When I park the vehicle and return sometime later it is erratic. Sometimes auto is back on sometimes not. The reduced TC almost always needs to be reset. Annoying, but hopefully Rivian will in an update...
  13. Lost Range Wheel Aero Cover

If anyone needs 21 inch covers I have four for free but I live in Arizona.
  14. Half-Shaft issue thread

No rattles so far from my DM R1T.
  15. Half-Shaft issue thread

My first Rivian was a LE QM R1T. It had all the usual “repairs” for this problem non of which lasted more than a few hundred miles. Finally, in desperation, I demanded Rivian replace the vehicle. They, after much slow walking, offered a new QM which I refused. After further “negotiations” Rivian...
  16. Harsh ride issue fix: exercise (calibrate) suspension -- raise to Off-Road Mode + lower to Performance Mode

2024 R1T DM. I really struggle to feel any differences between the three ride settings.
  17. Phantom / Vampire Drain Solution Works! Using 12v Battery Tender

I see where it is recommended not to use a tender greater than 3 amps. Is there a minimum amperage recommended for the tender? I have a 12 volt 750 mA tender I used for my ATV. Would this be sufficient?
  18. Front Drive Unit Replacement-Who’s had it done?

Gear lash. I suppose there is a less than perfect analogy to a traditional ICE vehicle where the play in a universal joint on the drive shaft increases as the universal joint ages and is about to fail. Visits to the SC and driving around with a tech in the R1T really did not show the severity of...
  19. Squeaking brakes

Living in Northern Arizona they use cinders on the roads in the winter time. The cinders sometimes get in the disk brakes and also dirt from the forest roads all of which results in load noises on occasion. A trip through the car wash has always solved it for me.
