Just tried this Hansshow phone charging pad for Rivian and it's very innovative and works well. Worthy upgrade from the Rivian OEM pad. It has extra charging ports and ambient lighting. The best part is that it looks pretty good and complements the interior. I liked it more than I thought I...
I agree. People want to know the best case scenario for the best overall tire with the worst efficiency. You can use the AT tires in all scenarios but the street tires are limited in functionality.
Add to that, I hate that when it no longer detects lanes for lane keep, it forces you to cancel the entire cruise control which causes the regen, aka brakes, to be applied that freaks out the person behind you. Why not keep the Adaptive cruise control on and just cancel the lane keep. The only...
Thought of doing that a couple weeks ago and even started the process but after I calculated the volume I would gain I felt it wasn’t worth it. BUT if it’s gonna help with carrying a full size spare without much compromise to the cargo room then it’s a big win. Thanks for getting it accomplished...
Should it matter? Since you never really know what orientation you’ll need help from. The two times I was pulled out by someone else was a rear recovery. Plus I love the idea of easily removing it after each recovery/trip.
What about these high performance jump staters or similar that can be used as a portable power bank? What would be the easiest way to keep the LiFePO4 topped up with power? Can it just be topped up for an off-road trip? and just left at home when not in use…

Thanks for the detailed response! My concern is the lead batteries inside the R1S too. Plus it’s tough to have an additional one purpose car battery and the winch and wiring, and constantly monitoring it’s health. The 120v winches I just looked up and all under 4000 lbs so that’s also a...
To clarify: I could use a jump starter directly to the winch wires and get sufficient juice but only a few minutes of pulling power, while a dedicated car battery would give longer pull times?
Coming from little to no knowledge of how electricity works here… but is there a way to use a power station to run the winch or do they not produce enough amps for a winch? They are the same size and weight as a car battery, power dense, and could do double duty with their multi-use...
Many people don’t believe and celebrate all these holidays that exist (that are plastered all over) but that doesn’t stop them from going to the store or watching TV or taking advantage of the sales or even eating a holiday cookie. They can just choose not to participate. You’re right, we can’t...
The previous years you could turn it off but this year I don’t think you can. So I’m thinking as long as people have the option to turn themes off and on then Rivian shouldn’t be concerned with offending anyone. Haven’t heard anyone complain about Halloween yet even tho it could be controversial...
Apple has emojis to suit all people and beliefs. People can use them or not. When you’re forced to see and use these themes then that’s the conflict.
I know there has been requests for a Christmas theme but none for the third year now. I believe Rivian doesn’t want to offend but there is always an option to turn it off. If anything I would feel more offended by Halloween than Christmas but I love the gimmick of it all. Christmas would have so...
To be honest only really hard core overlanders go more than 50 miles off grid. Try driving off road or even a bumpy dirt road for more than 50 miles and your body gets wore out before your car does. You’re also driving significantly slower so it’s several hours. We can easily do 50 miles and...
Apparently a Rivian is the best vehicle for overlanding. There are definitely some drawbacks but overall it checks many boxes if you’re into that sorta thing. If you agree with their sentiments please subscribe to the channel. Asking for a friend. ?
Previous discussions show why the rear is not the greatest idea for tailgate access, towing, and parking. Then again no spot is perfect. The R2s and R3s are smaller and prolly won’t be towing...
