The first thing you need to establish is what those "three distinct load-carrying positions" line up with.
If they don't line up with something useful, such as the height of the rack on the cab, you might not like the results.
Looks like we were all doing the same thing this morning.
The e-mail response I received from Rivian stated:
"Apologies, that last update on our tonneau covers wasn’t intended for you.
We understand you haven't been invited to configure yet. We'll invite you to configure your...
Just did a little research. In 2021, there were over 15,000 windmills in Texas.
For solar arrays, there should be over 113,000 solar installations.
Doesn't sound like there should be problems finding a green source with that level of activity!
The answer to your question may be in the e-mail that was sent out today.
" Did you know every time you plug in a Rivian charger, that vehicle charge is powered by 100% renewable energy sources, like solar or wind?."
It would appear they want to have all their chargers connected to green...
My first reaction on reading user's account is that it could be the brake line sprung a leak and the fluid drained out.
Having had that joyful experience in my Tacoma, I can report that the brake pedal does hit a hard spot when depressed. But, the difference might be that I was able to depress...
Is your garage heated?
With that level of drain, you should be able to leave your vehicle parked somewhere while on a backcountry trip and still come back to a stress-free drive home.
I think that whatever Rivian is cooking up for the R2 series will determine the company's fate.
Tesla's models S and X were exceptional vehicles. But, I believe it is the 3 and the Y that power Tesla. Similarly, Rivian's R1 series will dazzle, while the R2's will have to pay the freight.
One...
Sounds like there is a strong possibility I will be going with a basic off-road package (I want that added underbody protection). I'd rather err on the side of too much off-road stuff, than end up with something that is a pavement star but struggles on snow or rough roads.
This is good to know. I haven't locked in my tire desire yet.
One option has been to simply buy the 20" AT tires and a spare. Doing this, I would accept the range hit and increased wear.
My other other option would be to have two sets of tires, one the 20" AT's, the other the 21" road tires...
I'm looking at the Canadian side for the R1t and it still says "Deliveries for new reservations are expected to begin in 2024."
Maybe the good news angle is that the notice hasn't been changed to 2025 for anyone who ordered in early 2023.
Is this going to be comfortable?
One of my problems with the R1t is the lack of a nice stretch of flat space in which to throw down a mattress and sleeping bag. My small pickup truck, with a longer box and a canopy, has ample space for creating a bed in the bed.
I'll be interested to hear your...
Love the look. Just trying to figure out a few things.
How heavy is that cover?
From the third picture, with the tailgate down. There is a metal strip running across the back of the rear panel, where it butts up against the tailgate. In the other panels the metal is a channel for linking the...
I guess I'm kind of derailing this thread, so I'll apologize for that. But, this is a very interesting topic.
First off, really like the look of Sprout's truck, including the wheels.
So, if Sprout can't get his truck calibrated for the rims and tires he has chosen, what are the consequences...
That's the conclusion I came to after looking at a few videos. So, then the question moves to the effects on Gear Guard of putting in a canopy and blocking that bed camera.
Nothing is ever easy!
My existing truck has a canopy with a brake light above the canopy door. It is wired down to the left hand turn signal. Perhaps a similar option could be worked out with the R1t.
Something else I am going to check on now is the camera placements. Can't remember if Rivian has a backward facing...
Question: That airfoil on the trailing edge of the R1t cabin, is it a fixed part of the truck body (ie. permanent) or could it be removed?
To add a canopy to the truck, it might be possible to fit it in without hitting the airfoil. But, if not, then either the airfoil would have to come out or...
Just trying to start a discussion here. We are getting close to some vehicle deliveries.
You know, I believe that could even be happening 'soon', if I'm not mistaken.
Perhaps we should be thinking about asking the site moderator for some adjustments to the forum, as we switch gears to talking...
Well, this one is really tough isn't it! I predict we will learn about the interior! ;)
Who knows, maybe they'll throw in a bonus. How about a picture of two green vehicles parked side by side - one launch green, the other forest green.
