I foresee them going the way of Tesla once the LE is gone and just make the color add ons free for the performance trim to help entice people up from the premium. That or better financing rates. They have plenty of tools to keep the performance trim desirable, hopefully, as unfortunately the...
No longer own an R1, but when I did, it was my default for storage. We own a Model Y now and still applies. When we get the R2, ditto. We pull front first into our garage and I back into parking spots. The frunk makes more sense to put things in then circle out back. To me, for an EV, it is a...
What I have found funny going back and forth between physical vents and using a touch screen is that one is not necessarily better than the other. All it comes down to is how good the system is at helping aim airflow where you want it.
On the R1, I was always hot and struggled to get the vents...
I don't think even Rivian knows how many they will make, but on context clues, you could still get a launch edition IMO.
Based on my impressions from talking to people and at showrooms, most folks are waiting for the cheaper models. I don't blame them, either, as not everyone is really looking...
It is my wife's main car, I daily a 2018 BMW 2 series. With gas prices being what they are and its limited space, it rarely sees use. I do get to drive the Model Y often and it was what got me to consider the R2 to begin with. I prefer to drive a more compact car at the end of the day compared...
Like everyone has said, it's quite good. It is what Rivian needed it to be. I am sure it will sell quite well. I liked it enough to keep my reservation and will likely be my daily for the next two years.
As a mass market vehicle, Rivian did what they had to do and nailed it. It rides well...
I wouldn't worry about it. They are both easy to clean. IMO - the "white" interior looks cleaner than the darker one. It is not white, it is more of a stone gray. It is a misconception that dark colors hold up to dirt better. I have found the opposite to be true.
I bought a used R1S and had it...
Yeah after speaking with my local showroom, they will definitely have the R2 on display June 9th but actual test drives could be day of or same days later depending on the location.
Same here when we had the R1. Tesla appears to have fixed this issue. My wife is always first but the vehicle appears to wait to see who is going to the driver's said before choosing a profile.
Hopefully the R2 has a better handle on this technology. Kind of annoying to always be switching...
Here is to hoping R2 is a lesson learned for Rivian and the simplicity and new architecture pays off in the reliability department.
For me, I really hope it is. We bought a new Model Y and it is the vehicle we drive 95% of the time for just that - it works, reliably, every time. PaaK works...
Shame. I bought one a while ago and liked the way it looks and all the tech and features offered at the price point. The range and software were very disappointing though and I got rid of it before I got to experience any of the ICCU horror stories.
I hope they have a refresh imminent to help...
Going with the 21s. No cost option, more range and 0.1 faster 0-60?
Honestly mostly because I don't plan to keep it for more than two years. While I love the R2, I find the R2X and Scout Traveler more exciting so we'll likely upgrade when those are available hopefully come 2028.
I have a coworker who is also getting an R2 in my office. We were talking this morning about our configurations. We both around the same time lamented not having a brown interior option (she said camel and I said pecan). I really hope we see a sand or a brown option on the R2X. Likely not for...
Rivian, please listen to us. Give us another option besides black or white for the interior options on the R2!
Wishful thinking but perhaps this mean they can bring this (even if limited only) for the R2 down the line.
Drag is a huge part of the equation, but many other factors also play in like motor efficiency and tires. The shape does not paint the whole picture.
My opinion is that the R2 will not likely hit 330 on the highway (nor is the rated range really reflecting that) but getting real world 270-300...
I think those who want LE and are okay with black interior and the colors available now could potentially get theirs this year. I'd imagine most of the line is likely waiting for the premium or the standard.
If I weren't so impatient, I'd probably aim for the premium myself but can't ignore the...
As a semi-long time EV owner, terms like MPGe still makes no sense to me. Give me that miles per kw, that makes a lot more sense to me so fascinating how its legit the same for both. They were not joking by any stretch of the word when they said they were benchmarking the Model Y. Incredible.
Forest Edge is back for a limited time, so that's cool.
I mean, I get it, cool idea. But a car is not like a sneaker. They are leagues and magnitudes more expensive. One can't just pick up the latest hot item when it cost north of $80k.
IMO they need to do more than just colors to get people...
