Yes, since last update, the transition from one screen (map) to another screen (drive modes) on occasion takes a few seconds with a black screen as the transitional display.
That's an interesting idea! One thing that I like about the orientation as-is is that I can reach down and adjust the A/C fan speed or temp from the tent.
It's been fun seeing people's reaction to seeing the setup...it is a funny solution! I love that you can see that the A/C vent is blocked...
I'm currently 5,000 miles, and 11 days, in on a road trip. This A/C setup has helped me survive summer sleeping from Wyoming to Alabama and now Moab.
I bought the used 5,000 BTU window air conditioner off of Craigslist for $75 and spent $25 on the dryer hose, clamp, and self-tapping screws...
I received the estimate to fix the damage. This is just for the various plastic trim pieces (a total of 10 plastic trim pieces were damaged): Parts $1,367 + 7 hours of labor.
I'm going to have everything fixed, however, I have mixed feelings about the Rivian repair process. From what I have...
Over the past week of replaying the situations in my head, I wish that I would've tried two foot/pedal driving. I think that it would have made a positive difference.
No rock sliders on my R1T yet. With that being said, I think the DCE sliders would've done best in my situation. Actually, I think that the DCE sliders would've prevented 100% of the damage.
Do have the underbody shield, however there's plastic 360° around that shield: rocker panels, front/rear "skid plates" all plastic.
The missing plastic from the rocker panel sheered off on one of the OMG moments of uncontrolled rock hopping.
I've read about--and have seen the videos--Rivian's lack of slow speed crawl control. Today was the first time that I've encountered off-roading situations wherein the Rivian four motor strategy had me experiencing real challenge.
For those in the Puget Sound region, this trip was at the Reiter...
I feel similarly. Response from aggressive accelerator input is noticable. I feel that jabbing the accelerator pedal in All Purpose mode is more aggressive, too.
I love it, and have been driving a long way home this week to do more, eh-em, testing.
Got my R1T back today. I couldn't be more pleased with my interactions with Rivian staff.
A bit more info about the failure: Driving into the ~18 inches of water led to unexpected water intrusion into the inverter housing for the front drive unit.
Within just a week and a half, Rivian sent...
I stumbled on your question in this year-old thread. I am very much interested in figuring out a winch solution, too. Have you learned more information since your question here, @Blueassassin?
