Had same happen with a small chip cracking overnight.
Had the same issue with Geico.
They reimbursed me promptly.
I then proceeded to pickup a windshield repair kit from Amazon and its been great at warding off any further chips lol
Initially had it tinted 70% (essentially clear) ceramic tint. It helped quite a bit with the heat in our Florida sun.. then (un)fortunately had to replace my windshield due to a rock. Second time around, the tint shop recommended 45%.. it's subtle, reduces glare at night, and has REALLY helped...

Tinted front windshield 45% (was 70% until rock took out windshield). LOVING the change.. Temps way better, glare improved, minimal impact on visibility at night time. Have darkest legal tint on front. Rear unchanged from factory...
