I don't know if it is a bug, but unless Auto is on and/or (haven't figured it out) the rear vent is on as well, the heat doesn't really work at all in the front.
Basically if I want any real heat, I have to make sure the rear vent/heat is turned on.
If the rear vent/heat is not on, it is hit...
How fast was it going? Seemed pretty quick.
I don't know about guardrail testing, but standard crash tests are done at what...40mph or so? If you do a crash test at 150mph into another vehicle, is any car going to score even 1 star? Haha.
And I hope those electrical connections (if that's the plan) is somehow able to be retrofit.
Imagine how cool it would be to snap on/off lights and all sorts of powered accessories/toys by just unlatching the crossbars.
EVs are heavier, and that plays a large role.
However, a lot of EV-rated tires can account for some of the additional load. Not all.
Then you have powerful EVs making 500+hp that are RWD or AWD. Those are going to wear tires faster. Those that have more power generally are driven harder as...
Yeah, I'm very annoyed with the door pocket. I don't even use it because I don't want the elastic to wear out or have the material wear. Basically now a useless space for me.
:(
Not happening with me either, but I also experience the same. Not waking but when I have my phone in my pocket and walk into the garage, sometimes the red light blinks.
It wakes up since I can now unlock the charge port. Before I would have to open the door or something to fully wake it...
I understand, but if you took a close look at most of the "horror stories", many of them were due to folks not educated enough about EVs/charging (e.g.: leaving the car to charge to 100% in -15 degree temps).
If temps are frigid, you should plan better. Not trying to victim blame, but it is...
The fact is, the infrastructure isn't there yet, and it won't be for a while.
EVs are 90%+ efficient so any little thing is going to affect it noticeably. ICE vehicles are what...25% efficient? Some cold weather is going to hurt your range a bit, but it won't be as noticeable. Plus you can...
Looking at their site, the biggest most expensive one is starting at $3000. It has a 3.6 to 25kWh capacity.
So starting at $3000 you get not even 3% charge of your Rivian.
To get another 3% charge, you need another one of the batteries stacked for $2K more. To get the full 24kWh, it will...
There are a few options out there which advertise to the point of "You can even charge your EV!" but in reality, you cannot. One of those units can maybe give you another 2-3 miles in the best case scenario. And the unit is probably 50-80lbs.
Even an entire Tesla wall battery is what...
Very cool! I was cheap and got some used KO2s on those Ram 1500 wheels but they are HEAVY!
See how your efficiency is after a while. At first, I didn't notice much but maybe it took a few drives for the Rivian to "feel" it. But from an average of 2.2-2.3 miles/kWh to barely 1.8 it definitely...
I had that for a bit, but it was because I was in an area with no GPS/connectivity. Was off-roading in the mountains.
As soon as it connected again, the data appeared....along with a bunch of messages on my phone coming through finally.
I'll admit, it scared me because I knew I was going to...
Anectodal, but I temporarily ran some Dodge Ram wheels and different tires WITHOUT TMPS for a couple of weeks. Had the sensor warning come up.
Changed back to factory 22" wheels/tires with factory TPMS and within ~2 minutes it synced up again and the warning went away.
I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but working in the automotive industry, I don't see how Rivians will get access to the Tesla network that soon. So much technical and physical logistics that must be cared for.
Your PPF will be fine.
Just like any car with ice on it. Don't shock the surface with hot/boiling water. It could very easily cause issues, especially near/on the glass.
Just use your hand and tap firmly and you'll crack it and then just gently remove it. Then park it inside. You'll be fine.
I got them for ya! They're obviously older and need a wipe down, but they're yours.
PM me and we can figure out shipping. My wife has a corp FedEx account and I can probably get it to you for just a few bucks.
