Correct, KO2s are a beast in off-road.
But what about snow? My 22" factory wheels are terrible in snow. I usually use dedicated snow tires in my cars, but I don't want to be swapping between 3 different wheel/tire sets on my Rivian between road, off-road, and snow.
If that makes sense.
Don't want to muddy the topic of discussion too much, but is there a good tire option for both mild off-road and snow?
I got some used BFGoodrich KO2s in 20" which are fine for mild off-road. I live in Southern California and going to the ski resorts often have snow and sometimes restrictions...
Curious if we run cables on the 20" (I'm running Ram wheels + KO2s in 275/65/20), and we keep it in standard height and avoid low, would that be okay?
Something like this:

FYI, on the Facebook Rivian group, someone tried these 20" Dodge Ram models. They appear very similar to the "correct" 2363 wheels so take note. A lot of folks on the FB groups are thinking they scored when they find these.
They contact the front caliper, but clear with only a 1/4" spacer. I...
What was your experience when the road was not covered by snow?
I haven't used them myself, but I know numerous folks who do/did. In the SoCal area when we go to the ski resorts, they often require chains/4x4/etc.
But many parts of the road are plowed. Snow socks on asphalt seems to tear...
What hitch mount ski/board solution are you using?
I've seen a few over the years, but they stick up so high. They're also not cheap. Makes me want to splurge on the $400-500 Rivian branded crossbars and toss on my existing Thule ski/snowboard carriers. Probably less drag than a big box and...
I don't know about the Walmart one, but I think there's a Harbor Freight bottle jack that folks recommend. Keep in mind there's a small one and a larger one. You need the latter.
As for securing the Badlands jack in the vehicle, I'm sure you could. They sell 3rd party mounting plates and...
I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly don't want my vehicle braking for me. There's too much control now. Especially since my garage is tight. I park with 1-2 inches to spare.
That recording is different than the "dash cam". When it records events when parked, you don't need a...
That means you ordered quite a while ago. Didn't you do that "binding sales contract" thing? That allowed me to adjust my 2022 return. It took a few months but I got $7500 in a check about a month ago. Back then, there was really no requirement at all.
Well I finally took the time this holiday break to get my Ram 2363 wheels ready.
Sanded them at first by hand, got very sore quick haha. Then realized my hand sander worked for 95% of the wheel. The rest went rather quickly.
Picked up a "graphite" wheel spray paint from Amazon which turned...
I just put the Ram wheels on this past week on 275/65/20 BFGoodrich KO2s.
There is a steering wheel shake, but it is "different". Usually a wheel shake from unbalanced wheels will continue to shake rather hard even if you hold the steering wheel. On mine, the wheel shakes, but if I hold the...
Don't forget arriving at your destination with some usable range.
Arriving to your vacation spot with 30 miles left isn't useful. Arriving back home with 30 miles is fine since you're coming home and can likely charge.
That was my concern when I did my first long-ish trip. "Oh I only need to...
Streaming content is coming.
But until the official paid connectivity service starts, it won't happen. It is simply too much bandwidth/data usage to be free for everyone.
This HF cargo carrier is $99 until 12/24/23 and I've been looking to get something like this.
Anyone have this and can confirm if it will clear the Rivian (R1S) bumper when folded up? I know our hitches are set in a bit farther. I know I can use an extension, but I'd rather not have to do an...
I haven't used kneel mode yet, so I have a dumb question.
Does it simply drop to "sport mode" height? Or does it go even lower than that? My wife and I personally don't mind the height, but when my mom occasionally comes along, even sport mode is a bit high for her (she's not short, just older).
I haven't done it yet, but my plan is to have the 3rd row down + 2nd row's middle portion down.
It has worked well with similar vehicles in the past. If we need to carry more gear, I'll put the driver's side entirely down (2nd row and 3rd row).
