Ignore the model year and mileage difference. Pay attention to features instead. A few that I would highlight are: Meridian audio, exterior color, interior color, wheel size (steer clear of 21”), tire age/condition, underbody shield (if you’re a rock crawl type of person), full-size spare, and...
I suspect a bunch of folks here have captured wildlife on Gear Guard or Drive Cam videos. Share yours here.
This big dummy standing in the middle of the road nearly ruined an otherwise lovely afternoon drive, pacific sunset, and dinner. I learned that the brakes work well when you stomp on them.
Put a jack stand or a stack of wood blocks under the lower suspension arm behind the wheel you removed. Lower the vehicle slowly and carefully to rest on the jackstand or blocks.
Depends where you live. Badge swapping is illegal in 48 states and the District of Columbia.
At least it should be….
Reminds me that one of the ski resorts had special premium parking for Lexus vehicles last season. Of course, some enterprising locals rebadged their Subarus.
Swapping between summer and winter wheels entails wrangling 8 wheels and tires around the garage. The increase in weight is not so subtle when stacking the offseason set in the corner at the end of the job. I swear the tire on the top of the stack weighs 10x more than the one at the bottom.
Oh man... you got me good! Spot on narration every step of the way. Get a teenager to film the whole process and spread it around the interwebs. You'll be a superstar in no time.
Edit: Had to fix the animated GIF link. Apparently I need to work on my interwebs skills.
Since they have two cars to charge you might want to consider the convenience of a charger that can split the load to charge both at the same time from one circuit. That would leave the other circuit (presumably the 14-50 outlet) open for other uses.
We have a vacation cabin that we share with...
32.5k miles and no routine service visits for me. Just swapped my winter tires on yesterday, replaced the wiper blades, and replaced the cabin air filter. Eyeballed (visually inspected) the brakes, rotors, and suspension in the process.
I am inclined to chalk this up as a comprehensive inspection.
Not Rivian-specific but it is an interesting high-level summary of R&D efforts at top-tier tire manufacturers.

I think the EPA "Where the Energy Goes" site deserves a reference somewhere in this writeup.

I like how it shows a stark comparison of inefficiencies between ICE, hybrid, and EV's.
+1 for the Badland floor jack. Super easy to lift the truck with this plus a jack puck. Then, as a safety measure, I pop a jack stand under the suspension arm at whichever corner I am working on.
Hi Mark! Thanks for convening this meeting of Tires Anonymous and for sharing.
I can certainly identify with your story. I have about 25k miles on my OEM AT tires and they still measuring at 6/32"-7/32" of tread depth. Yes they are a bit loud. But shouldn't they be practically bald by now? It's...
The Ohmmu website lists a group size of BT19BL-BS. This led me to a guess that an appropriate lead-acid replacement might be https://fullriverbattery.com/batteries/part-ft230d/.
