You can hard wire the Rivian charger straight to the Splitvolt?
Also, I would highly recommend changing out that dryer outlet for an industrial outlet since you're going to be pulling maximum amperage for an extended amount of time. Dryer outlets aren't made for that kind of stress and will...
The stall is only able to power 150kW or 350kW, whichever it is. But not 2x that at the same time. I believe there are two plugs because some have a split CHAdeMO and CCS. The others that are both CCS, have no idea, maybe for length because all EVs charge port aren't in the same place?
Yes, for Tesla wall connectors, anyone can plug into those as long as you have a Tesla to J1772 adapter.
SC network, no. Only Tesla's can plug into those right now. That may be changing sooner than later though, as Elon has already said they will open the network up (and already have in...
We have a 3 and Y right now. Been waiting for our R1S for over a year. Just as soon as the R1S comes in, the Y is gone lol. R1S suits our needs better, so can't wait to get it!
I can one up you on this one. One of the SC stations near me in CA took almost 2 years after the stalls were up, to actually be operational. It took so long, that they are still V2, while all the other new ones around here are V3 lol.
Yeah that is something new I didn't know about on the gen 3. I guess I'm a little old school and thinking about the gen 2 where it's just plug in and you're done.
Same topic in the Tesla community, so this will apply. Just my 2 cents. Not really worth it unless you really baby your car and can't stand to see dings on it.
The power liftgate must have multiple height settings like most any other cars? I assume the pic is the highest setting which looks tight. So lowering the setting a "click" or two I'm sure would do the trick and you could fit it.
Thank you! Great info. The most often trip we may do in our R1S if we ever get it is Norcal to Socal, so at least the ones down the 5 seem to be working. Gives me anxiety thinking about it and how easy it is in a Tesla. This is good news.
Everyone in the Tesla subs always talk about DCU. I think theirs is 1.95% for EVs (at least a few months ago)? There's like a special EV discount. I would assume it would qualify for Rivian's too? Crappy thing is to get this super low rate, you have to direct deposit your entire paycheck...
Not expecting mine until 2024. I don't even remember if the email said 1st or 2nd half 2023 because I'm pretty sure it's not happening anyway lol.
In addition, just picked up a performance Model Y this past weekend in the interim, so when the car feels like coming is fine with me. I'll enjoy...
Exactly what I was thinking too. To adjust to regen like you're braking in an ICE car, you need to gradually let off the accelerator, not fully at once. Even sometimes press the accel if you let off too much. With regen, esp. in these Rivian's which I've heard the regen is really strong, it'd...
Here's how I wash my Model 3, with all products linked in the description. Obviously you can wash any car this same way, so your future Rivian (and mine) will work.
"it looks like they have a hose attachment that sprays foam on the car to make it a lot more "touchless". It looks kind of like...
Dude eff that. No way I'm paying 80 grand for a car that's been in the body shop. Who cares if it doesn't show up on the VIN. Was is something so bad that it could compromise the integrity of the car? Could it be a safety issue? No thanks, request a new car. Nobody should be paying this...
I would sign up with EA. They are the biggest DC fast charging network outside of Tesla. Also, if you sign up with Plugshare, you can see which chargers are where. So maybe if you're planning a trip, you can see which networks are on your route and sign up with those before you take your trip?
