I saw over on the Reddit sub that I don't think the Seattle event, so far anyway, is the same "First Mile" event like Sonoma/Normal/NY. The guy over there showed a screen shot of a mobile drive. The one where the guide comes to your house with the R1T and lets you test drive for 45 mins...
It's probably cause all the employee's that have the truck are under an NDA not to say anything anyway, if they even have social media. Maybe this is a slip by this employee, but he said he was getting 110kW at 60-70% when he was charging. Not bad. And we don't know if the EA station was even...
We've got an R1S on order, but we want the max pack that's not even out yet. Probably safe to say we're not getting that until 2024 at this point lol. And I'm including all the pre orders that back out, moving me up the line haha. Gonna be forever.
I think MKBHD talked about this in a video, basically said the same thing. And then it was proved wrong. I'm also of the side that if the Lightning had that much range, Ford would've said so. There's no way they'd hold back that much range from the public.
I don't doubt you one bit. People are loyal to brands, period. And the general public isn't ready to switch over to EV's yet. We're the enthusiastic bunch that know where the future is headed. Not everyone can see that yet or just don't care. The crappy level 3 infrastructure right now...
riviantruckmom is the IG account we're talking about. Someone flat out asked if they were associated with Rivian. No reply, yet. We'll see if she replies and that'll settle it, if she replies.
The execs over at Toyota are idiots TBH. I keep seeing these commercials from Toyota recently about their "you don't have to charge and waste time" hybrids, and it pisses me off. Yeah, great idea. Let me just charge my tiny battery using gas. Great for the environment lol. They are going to...
Yes, max height of 77" would be with the suspension all the way up. At one point, the web site said ride height 72", so I'm assuming that's either the lowest it'll go, or the standard height. You can google it, and there are screen shots of the 72" height. Either way, you should be fine...
I would think they've studied Tesla pretty closely and the fact that many of their engineers are ex-Tesla anyway, I think the performance of the batteries will be fine. I fully expect the pack to last the life of the car, given you take care of it and charge it properly. Which really means...
I think it's literally just the sales of the cars, no? Unless NC is different from other states that don't do direct sales. Example would be Texas. Tesla can't do direct sales in TX, but have a ton of service centers in Texas to service the cars in the state.
Time to book a road trip to the nearest state that allows direct sales and pick the car up from there, then drive it back to your home. Or the 1st Nations suggestion that some have mentioned will work too, if you can get them to help.
Congrats! We want to do that as well, since I have no idea how long the R1S will take to get here, esp. cause we want the max pack variant that isn't technically out yet. But the wife said either Model Y now and wait until we have kid #2 or wait for the R1S lol. We'll have to see after the...
If you need the car now, I'd say take the Model Y until you get the R1S. Resale in this market should be fine, you might even make money off of it, which is crazy. I'm betting that even with your LE reservation, in LA near HQ, you might get it end of January if they start production on time in...
