If you do not have a Tesla Membership, charging is super easy as plug in and charge since it'll be billed to your Rivian app. And the cost will show up inside as well.
It's very easy.
Just attach the adapter to the charger and plug in. No app is needed to start. Just make sure a card is attached in your Rivian app.
You just need the Tesla app if you want the membership for cheaper prices.
The restrictions was for if you took delivery and sell the truck itself. I sold the Tesla account that had truck reservation on there. And I just changed the email and name to the other person.
The reservations for the Cybertruck are still selling on eBay, but at a lower price of $200–$400 for a July–September delivery.
Good thing I sold mine earlier in the year.
The first time I charged it, it was tough. I had to tap it against my tire to get it to lock in place. But after that first time, it was easy to lock it.
I sold them the account with an new email. I had no tesla products so it was brand new account when I pre-ordered it back in 2019. They had no issues with being sold the account, as the account was able to changed into their name.

I had the same feeling. I was excited when it was announced it would be $39k, but then found out it would be over $80-$120k. So I sold my reservation to another tesla owner and applied that to my R1T.
