Well. well. Good to see this blowback toward RAN and its now more absurd pricing.
I have been denouncing this price-gouging scheme at DC fast chargers for years, calling what in my view it really is: the biggest, state-sanctioned SCAM ever perpetrated on the human race.
Mentioning this...
Trying to make as much money as possible?
Perhaps.
In layman's terms: a fool and his money easy part. Very likely, part of the pricing-decision criteria.
I just will enjoy my R1S and ignore VD.
In storage in my garage since last November, my R1S was losing at least 4 and as much as 6 to 7 miles SOC a day. And with everything disabled and camp mode with power set to off.
Reading about tenders, I tried one through the OBD port just for kicks. VD...
Hey, here's a thought for ya. Buy a long trailer, stock it chockful of solar panels and haul it along wherever you go jury-rigged to the battery pack. The longer the trailer, the more solar panels, the better!!!
It looks as if insurance companies have decided to declare them losses right away instead of repairing vehicles, and at the same time jack up rates for everybody. It is exactly the main reason my insurance co. gave me last November for the $500 increase in policy renewal: the very high cost of...
Glad to hear that you are okay and that you also were made whole thanks to your insurance. That is one reason why I carry very high coverage limits on my auto policy; one never knows what kind of insurance coverage the person that hits you may have, or not.
That said. Sure, it is great to see...
Watched a video about a Taycan on the Autobahn with dynamic headlights doing this and more. It even would light up the adjacent lane when changing lanes.
Sure, very nice, but not a must-have for me. In my view, the auto high-beam feature alone on my Teslas works very well. I believe my R1S...
I had a solar array on my previous home. Learned to charge not batteries but my EVs directly by derating the charging rate of my Teslas to match the output of the solar array. 100% free electricity.
I never paid attention to or cared about the DC-to-AC conversion losses from my array. All that...
Isn't that something, the opposite experiences?
I am now just plain leery of Michelins, but perhaps I got a bad batch of tires. My Model S does have Michelin Pilot 4 but all seasons. They seem fine. I'd just rather have summer tires.
Actually, I did replace tires on my ICE SUV with Defender...
I have Teslas also, and quite proud of it. My R1S was the only true SUV in my view available at the time when I ordered it. Had Tesla made an R1S-like SUV, it would be sitting in my garage today instead of the Rivian, or perhaps it would have been a tough choice to make. Rivian it is, and I...
6.3k on my R1S with 21" Pirelli Scorpion, tires look pretty much like new. Excellent ride.
Pirelli Pzero tires on my Model Y Perfiormance, was told would not last 10k, going on twice that many, plenty of tread still, and ride is superb; car drives as if mounted on rails.
My Model S Performance...
Great to hear you are satisfied.
Yes, the collision center that fixed my R1S mentioned that Rivian parts cannot be removed and reused because they break when attempting to remove them.
A ton of parts besides door replaced on mine, too.
Malvern, Malvern PA!??
My old stomping ground.
Except a license plate holder IS NOT essential.
Giant OEM lettering and badging aside, should Rivian have some kind of revenuable marketing agreement with owners to sport extra advertising on vehicles. Nah, not even then for me.
Getting hit with a speeding ticket, paying fine; hassle of dealing with ticket; defensive driving (more to pay) to keep points off your license; arrest at worst case; auto insurance rates go up; on and on. But by damn, I got there 5 minutes sooner, ha!
Wooho!!
That will learn you.
Left to solve...
