You could also get the new MS tire from Pirelli that's now the OEM tire. It seems to be providing a noticeable efficiency gain. But, back to back testing would be required to know.... hint hint. ;)
The leading candidate for the large pack is now the 7 of 9 modules populated according to:

Fair enough. I was comparing the gen1 21" option to the gen2 22", but maybe you're right in that it should go from the 22" to the 22" as they're the same wheel size.
But, the battery size is 109 to 131, not 135.
Only a 9% improvement is needed:

The max pack is 400 / 141 = 2.84
Also the large pack is 131 kwh = 2.69
It's a surprising increase in efficiency that mostly comes from city efficiency...
According to the EPA documentation, both 22" wheels are under the same label. And the documentation has a picture of the new R1 with 22" bright (not aero). So, I actually think they only tested with the previous 22" wheel and didn't even test with the newer aero wheel, just assuming it wouldn't...
I agree. If you notice, they're reporting the same 330 mile range for R1S and R1T, but for the max, they show the R1T at 420 vs 410 of R1S. If the Standard, Large and Max all have about the same efficiency of 2.9 mi/kwh, then I suspect the range is actually 320.
352*109.4/131 = 294 miles...
The MPGe for the 2025 R1S Max 22" is 91/77 (from the latest EPA document)
The MPGe for the 2024 R1S Max 21" is 89/76 (known to be a bit optimistic)
The MPGe for the 2024 R1S Max 22" is 84/72
The MPGe for the 2024 R1S Large 21" is 82/74
The MPGe for the 2024 R1S Large 22" is 80/71
It does seem...
The gen1 DM Max is rated at 2.84mi/kwh. Although, that was a bit of fudging to get it. It's just a small step up from there. I think they make most of the increased range at lower speeds. Having less baseline energy use will help more around town. I think the higher speed test shows like 4%...
I've started another thread discussing the gen2 large pack:

Yep, I see 600 W now.
Looking at the difference in the speakers, it looks like if you don't use the special immersive sound, then only thing you'll be missing is the bass. I guess they could change the drivers. I wonder if they still have the wiring to there to add in a better aftermarket.
Where did you see those stats?
I was clicking through the R1S gen2 yesterday and it says the same 960 watts, but 12 speakers instead of 19 on a 16 channel amp
I'm curious if the software locked batteries show any degradation. They might show the full size of the pack, which would degrade. Or they might show the available size, which it would be kind of weird if it degraded. I have wondered if the SW limited people will always charge to 106 kwh, or 121...
From their comparison table:
https://media.rivian.com/shop/Builder/PDFs/R1S-Compare-06-04-24_npbaxc
That's a good point. But they may just be under promising. If they actual weight is lower, it can still has at least that payload, it just has more.
The payload values are suspect. Do you think...
I'm starting to lean on the idea that they're going to populate 7 of 9 modules. Thrir estimated charge speed is slower:

I started a discussion here. Seems like no information except the expected capacity.
