  1. Rivan wants you to cancel your pre March '22 order [?]

True, but bad for Rivian is bad for R1 owners. Nothing against the company as I love nearly everything about it, just wish they were more forthcoming about estimates. Reserving today gets you this: Deliveries for new reservations are expected to begin in late 2023. Eleven months? Ok, so...
  2. Rivan wants you to cancel your pre March '22 order [?]

Not quite what I was implying. You made a lot of references to my order but I made no mention of my order. Just the general fact that companies operate for purposes of profit and they tend to seek the most of it however they can. No one really knows precisely who's gets produced first. If you...
  3. Rivan wants you to cancel your pre March '22 order [?]

Am I too cynical? If Rivian will lose some profit on the pre-March priced orders, wouldn't they love those orders to be customer-cancelled and those vehicles go to people who'll pay $17K more? The bad part is there is no way of really knowing if they are dicking around with these...
  4. With interest rates rising, how many won’t be completing their R1 purchase?

For $70,000 borrowed for 60 months, each percent difference (3% to 4%, 4% to 5%, etc) is an extra $32/month. In any event, a recession's on the way and its gonna hurt. That'll drive down inflation and rates.
  5. R1S Body Gaps - Your Input

Wait, 7-day window?? You won't just return it, I hope. You will surly flip in the open market and make $15-20K, right?
  6. R1S Body Gaps - Your Input

The closer to delivery that you make the claim, the more likely they will take it seriously.
  7. Conserve Mode real world range for 21s and 22s wheels?

Shouldn't EPA use conserve mode in their testing? If I can always be in conserve mode with zero adverse effects, that should be the mode they choose since the focus of their testing is about range. A 340-370mi range on the window sticker would be a good look.
  8. RIVIAN BLUE Rivian Photos

I live in south Florida, so a few observations on your concerns; the paint color of your exterior makes no real difference to interior temps. After 10-15 years or so, yeah, the clear coat over black paint starts to give way due to constant extreme heat cycles and looks like poop, but the...
  9. Cabin lights are touch sensitive

Like most Kia's starting MY2021. Good that Rivian is keeping up. :)
  10. 2022 Rivian R1S For Sale - (Yes, an R1S!)

The excitement level of an R1S for sale is inversely proportional to the markup level. Good looking spec, though.
  11. 22" Sport Bright vs Sport Dark - Crazy pricing

Rivian charges $1700 more for Sport Dark 22" wheels over the Brights, presumably because of the extra step of spraying the Sport Bright wheels with a black-tinted coat to create the Darks. It seems to me they can save us money by simply powder coating all 22"s then machining off the face of some...
  12. End of my dream

Hmm. If the OP's expectations are inflated why is that our bad for pointing it out. The other 95% of us who don't have our Rivian's yet will have a much more sorted out car when we finally get ours. He's at the front of the line so there are niggles to deal with. A bad hood sensor? Dump the...
  13. WSJ Article: A High-Speed EV Crash

Technically, its WSJ 'Opinion' section, but your point is valid.
  14. WSJ Article: A High-Speed EV Crash

People must be new at this whole interwebs thing. When confronted by a paywall of a popular website for a news article, just Google the whole article title in quotes and you find the non-paywall version. ;)
