Nobody knows, but I doubt they are going to stop selling and building Launch Edition models before September.. I doubt they stop before the end of the year.
Most hood pistons have an initial set point and a more extended one - and then often a button based OVER extended range that is accesible by releasing a button.. but that’s for ICE vehicles for easier access into the engine bay.. but this could still be similar.
And, the pistons are usually...

As for AM in EV cars.. oem really don’t like to do it as the EMI frequencies that the EV motors and wiring operate at significantly interfere with AM modulation. Not so much or at all with FM.
So, in order to protect the radio signal and output, they need more shielding...
during my demo drive last week I checked around the inside of the roof liner and glass and there is PLENTY of space there for clips to hold a heat shield for the roof glass. It was at least 1” deep as well,
It just takes a bit of time. If there was demand for an R1 version, there will CLEARLY be demand for an R2 version.
The only concern I have is that I THINK the R2 actual roof is longer than the R1S front roof section, so a mid shade bowed cross beam for support might be required.
I'm thinking a silly but nicely done foam insert would fit in that crevice and lessen the gap that seems to allow the top section to FEEL like it's protruding. I might mock something up for my next test drive.
Not that one SHOULD have to do this for a brand spanking new car, but i've spent my...
So yes, I had this same issue (and I’m 6’4” too!).. where the lower lumbar and mid back panel, meets the upper thoracic and shoulder support panel it’s a divet there, but it felt like a PROTRUSION. Hitting me right in the mid thoracic spine and lower scapulae (shoulder blades).. after the drive...

The R2 IN the showroom had music services enabled, and I tested the sound there and it was “ok”, a bit too forward and there was BASS, but it didn’t seem to be well matched to the mids. I wasn’t able to get to an EQ to try and check it.
What was annoying was that the test drive car had ZERO...
These two about seat cooling, and the seat cooling fans I concur.. it was odd. I’m used to Benz, Jeep with seat cooling and not used to really HEARING the cooling fans. Also, the AC seemed underpowered. At first I thought it was the vents adjustment, so did that, then I thought it was the...
I had a test drive yesterday..It was 88 here, car said 93 (outside and affected by vehicle temp heat absorption, but still most likely an ”in the shade” measurement.
While UV is important, blocking the IR that heats it up is too, and I can tell you that glass roof GETS HOT. We’re going to need...
Most ppl with R1s say the R2 is quieter, might be better fit and finish, less materials in doors and overall, or sound proofing? or slightly less rubber on road.
I managed to get up to ~ 80-82 for about 3 miles.. WIND noise in the cabin seemed quite good, although there was an annoying wind/fan issue coming from the rear. I purposely turned off the rear vents and climate system, and that didn't help. I THINK it was the seat cooling FANS in the passenger...
