I had this exact config spec’d, and my guide reached out to ask if I wanted to switch to Black Mountain and get my truck earlier. I’ve now been driving my R1T for about a month and have no regrets.
I had one of those, exactly the same 2lb next day air, and it was an “apology” goodwill gift from marketing because I had a problem with a poorly manufactured kids t-shirt from their swag shop (which they had already promptly replaced). They gave me a nice water bottle, a set of pins, and a kind...
How much cooling power does it have going full tilt at 0F? I’ve thought about using a small electric freezer like this on rotating ice pack freezing duty combined with a much larger traditional cooler.
There was a lot of detail about future van variants in their S-1 IPO filing doc. While Amazon has dibs on the last-mile electric delivery van (EDV) variant for awhile, they have plans to delivery quite a few other types of vans which are not locked to Amazon.
The GFCI breaker requirement for a 14-50 receptacle should not be underestimated. I just priced out my wiring and a 60A non-GFCI breaker is $20 while a 50A GFCI one was over $200. Also, the GFCI breakers are pretty hard to find right now so a lot of people are adding a 50A spa sub panel in-line...
Even trickier than it sounds. I get the comment was in jest, but the whole power management cycle doesn’t follow keyed semantics. There is no concept of “acc on” or “ignition on”. Once you unlock, then the infotainment system is on and it is ready to drive. It doesn’t turn off until you exit and...
There seems to be quite a critical mass of us in the Seattle area. I’m over in Green Lake and spotted a twin to my Launch Green R1T just one street up from me yesterday.
Due to the unique shape of the gear tunnel, about the only ones that will fit are the “lunchbox” size ones that can’t hold more than a 6-pack of cans. The frunk has other constraints, and neither is a good option for a proper fridge.
The “adventure gear” accessories I paid for (rack rails, field kit, floor mats) are coming at some indeterminate time in the future. The rest was just shouting into a void with no indication I’ll see them.
I love my truck, but this has not been a positive auto-buying experience for me.
Has anyone with a recent delivery gotten one of the wrist band keys that they previously talked about? I took delivery about 2 weeks ago and did not receive one. Is it still a thing?
So far the best part has been the 4 and 6yo’s reactions when we picked them up from school in it. We previously had them convinced we wouldn’t see it until the summer. ? Weekend adventures inbound!
? Don’t let my kids hear the offer or they’ll never let up until it happens! I’m going to baby this one for awhile, I’ve taken it pretty hard on the new car gods in the past.
The vehicle comes with a ziplock bag containing 4 of the adapters, one for each ISOFIX/LATCH base attachment point. This can accommodate a child seat in each of the 3 positions. They are not required for attaching the seats but it sure made life easier. I wish all cars had them!
