Good luck, mine has allegedly been at Bellevue for a week now and I’m still locked out of scheduling a delivery. I’m starting to think they dropped it off the truck or something and are waiting for a replacement.
This is great news, is yours coming out of the Seattle service center? I’ve been waiting semi-patiently for mine over a week, I’m glad to hear they can turn around deliveries fast!
I’ve transferred funds equal to the cost of a small house to Rivian and I can’t even get a delivery date scheduled yet. No idea if it’ll be tomorrow or 2 months from now with zero transparency on what’s happening. My wife is LIVID and I’m in the doghouse. This process is not good.
I’m no fan...
I see you’re in the Seattle area- how long did you have to wait in Step 8-Preparing Vehicle before you were able to get your delivery, and did they give you any indication how backed up the Service Center is with deliveries? Mine’s been stuck in that status for a week and I’ve even paid in full...
Seattle checking in! I’ve been stuck on Step 8 with nothing scheduled for a week, and they even transferred the funds from my bank account for the full purchase price a couple days ago with nothing to show for it. My wife is extremely displeased and said “this seems a bit scammy”. Not a good...
No. See below for the official rules from https://wsdot.com/travel/real-time/mountainpasses/tiresandchains
That is not what it says, they are still required (that is why I called out the “Chains required on all vehicles” section):
It depends on conditions, but sometimes you do. See “CHAINS REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES” athttps://wsdot.com/travel/real-time/mountainpasses/tiresandchains. Welcome to the land of “Cascade concrete” snowfall!
Snow socks are helpful for adding traction to your Miata on summer racing slicks, but are kind of garbage on normal winter tires. Putting them on the ATs would be a huge traction downgrade and they’d get swiftly destroyed.
Interesting, that section is not in the manual I had downloaded earlier. I guess it’s still a living document.
That “no chains on AT 20s” is kind of a non-starter, and they really need a better answer there (“raise your ride height” or something). Tire chains are a staple of Pacific Northwest...
Anyone have a recommendation for good tire chains that fit the 20” ATs? I’m in the queue for delivery soon and will need them to access one of my favorite winter destinations. The Owner’s Manual seems to come up empty for this, which is unusual.
Checking in from Seattle! I was given an Apr/May window, and my guide reached out this past week to let me know that my truck is in-build and I have a VIN to commence purchase paperwork! My config is LE R1T, Launch Green/Black Mountain, 20” AT, underbody skid plate, FS spare. Kitchen and gear...
