My R1T is 030xx. I think I saw somewhere that somebody had a 3500.

014XX, mfr date 01/2022. They were definitely sand bagging on the "it's going into production this week" at the end of February :D

The Vins don't go in order because of the checksum right? So XX3500 wouldn't mean it's the 3,500th off the line I assume.

VINs are assigned sequentially prior to production, but the actual order off the line is random. At Rivian's production levels they are probably only assigning a few hundred VINs at a time so it's a good bet VIN 3500 would have been built after VIN 1400.

Those typically never make it into Consumer hands, and when they do, are unable to be registered

The checksum is in position 9 of the VIN - it's set based on the value of the 10th - 17th position (year, plant and then 6 digits for serial place in production for that model/config).

There could be a 3500th R1T LE and a 3500th R1S and even a 3500th R1T with dual-motor (not the LE Quad Motor), but within a model it's definitely sequential
