I went to turn in my Chevy Volt lease. The residual buy out value was $26K. I loved having the full warranty and no maintenance issues so I turned down the buyout. As I was getting into my Uber to go home, I got a call from the dealer and they asked if $16K was ok for a buyout! I still said no...
2nd biggest mistake after nto having a full size spare in the R1S was not having Carplay. MY MISTAKE was not realizing and knowing it would not be available,!! I own it but never dreamed such a superior product would not be available on such a tech vehicle. My BAD.
I use a garage opener device on the visor. Sometimes manual is better. No issue with the suspension in our R1S at all and I DO take it off road…not just this speed bumps in LA!. It does not break a sweat with its amazing performance. The A/C would be better with manual buttons…I concur. The...
But it has Apple Car Play capability!! )) I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for over 30 years and it was very capable off road. No issue there but 250 miles range to start with and weather, load and driving conditions taking it down more???
Sorry but I am confused….doesnt the RiT have a “built in“ compressor like the R1S? I have done the White Rim glorious trail in my R1S. When I got to the top, I merely pulled over and pulled out the kit that hooks up to the built in compressor and aired up. What am I missing here? I haven’t had...
Highway 97 is very scenic but watch out for deer in the mountains. There are plenty of chargers and even RAN chargers along Central Oregon and Northern CA
2 year ownership at 23K miles of the Adventure R1S. Love the car and would buy it again for sure. I actually use it for occasional off roading and not just speed bumps in LA! )) The charging nightmares are in the past at least in CA, it is elegant yet has superior performance and versatile as...
I used to dirt bike in that area decades ago and have only been out there once in my R1S due to the reasons you allude to. If you are playing north of Barstow, there are some level 3 chargers in Ridgecrest/Inyokern where you can charge.
Something is very wrong. I have a 2023 R1S and go to Mammoth from LA twice a summer and have used all the chargers you mentioned along the way and never had any issues. It was very hot also a few times. There are some chargers in Mojave also…Tesla and EA that I have used. They worked fine.
I could not agree more. Of all the distractions in a car that can cause incidents like eating, drinking, picking something up, talking incessantly etc etc, manual texting is the worst and most unsafe distraction by far. The tests and common sense show it because it involves more senses, actions...
I concur and as I mentioned….I DO NOT DO IT!! AS Mr. Actor said “you cant handle the truth!” people are not going to stop doing it due to human nature and no enforcement. I am merely stating a fact. Please read…I do not do it. Over and out
that is my point……there is no enforcement whatsoever so people are doing it!! and will continue to do it. I dont agree with it and I DONT do it as it is super unsafe especially without car play but again, just look around and tell me I am wrong.
and you have to consider “human nature” in this discussion also. teenagers and people that tend to not follow the rules (the 80/20 axiom comes into play here as 80% of people do or try to do the right thing and follow rules and 20% never do or dont care) than having a safer platform helps...
of course it is…but at a stoplight WHILE LOOKING STRAIGHT AHEAD AND COMPOSING IS MUYCH SAFER than looking at or reaching for a phone. As a pilot for 43 years we develop a scan so we can flight on instruments though clouds and this comes int to play when having the device in our field of vision...
It IS a big deal and the second worst mistake that Rivian made after not having a full size spare on the R1S an ADVENTURE vehicle!! Car play is a safety tool besides all the other advantages like being able to voice text while looking straight ahead while driving!! I still cant believe my R1S...
