I agree with this but I think RJ is right for Rivian.
I think some of the quality stuff is overblown
and other stuff like the 12VDC battery issue needs to be solved for good.
With Tesla it didn't really happen UNTIL their mass market vehicle. It absolutely did cause a massive nose dive in quality, customer service, service times, etc.
It took them awhile to recover. They bet the company on the 3/Y and managed to pull it off.
Rivian hasn't released their mass...
What I'm been thinking about is installing some kind of thermal imaging sensors in my garage.
That way if a lithium ion battery did experience issues I could at least be alerted. This is especially important with other devices like e-bikes, scooters, etc.
My garage is so full of these now...
A certain orange person thinks Subaru owners are all woke lesbians. Haha
I see what you're saying in terms of Rivian marketing. That they're marketing it as adventure vehicles.
I do wish they were a bit more like Subaru's in terms of reliability. All EV's so far seem to be a disappointment...
Why would you use the voice of the customers of one of the least respected companies on the planet to give an opinion about Rivian?
I do caution people who are considering a Rivian about their service times, and initial quality issues. I do believe the long term reliability is middle of the...
What size battery pack do you have?
I'm asking because Rivian uses two different chemistries where one is SUPPOSED to be more immune to thermal runaway.
Google "range rover out-of-warranty cost"
I was curious as I heard that was the worst of all of them and the vehicle type is good approximation to the R1T/R1S.
" Out-of-warranty Range Rover costs are extremely high, with annual maintenance and repair costs averaging around $9,000 to $10,000...
I hardly use mine at all (the iKamper 3.0 Mini) so I was thinking of officially renting it as I figured that would be a way of utilizing it.
But, I'm too far north as I live 200 miles away from Portland.
Does anyone know if this vehicle has Lithium Ion batteries or Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries?
The fire doesn't seem like a Lithium Ion fire as normally you hear the exploding of the cells.
Instead it appears to be an electrical fire started elsewhere.
My experience its been a mixed bag.
I do feel as if overall that Rivian is the closest to Tesla in terms of the overall customer experience.
The connected car - Things like Gear Guard and Sentry mode.
The App
The Service Center
How it all ties together.
For a long time Rivian service was...
Can you come up with other cases where customers spend thousands of dollars on a feature only for it to never materialize?
How is it not the greatest case of fraud the last decade? It started in 2016 or so and continued until just about a year ago or so when they moved the language to...
The solution depends on what the problem is.
You stated a solution but you didn't define what the problem was.
I routinely got rid of vehicles before the warranty expired not because I was worried about out of warranty cost but because I was bored.
I'm keeping my 22 R1T because I'm not...
I wouldn't think anything of it because these are first generation vehicles where Rivian made a ton of changes.
So its really just getting a lot of service bulletins taken care of.
Plus its proactive and not based on actual need.
Of course this is also part of why Rivian loses a lot of money...
Not just that but a lot of us got a really good deal on the Gen 1 Quad.
The Gen 2 is not a substantial upgrade over the Gen 1 and the cost differential is going to be enormous.
Much cheaper in the long run to keep the truck and get the extended warranty for assurance.
Anyone that has a...
Because half of us came from a Tesla.
The emotional ties still bind us.
Dojo was the hopes and dreams of us FSD folks.
Dojo would make the fantasy real
This imaginary all knowing computer in the clouds would teach our cars how to see everything.
Without emotion you have no numbers.
The numbers literally come from emotion as the market has factored in the collective of emotions towards things like AI, autonomous driving, drug discovery, etc.
That's not even getting into the whole meme stock thing, and how retail investors play into it...
Why are you recommending a quantum computing? A little bit ago I emotionally sold IONQ which is another one. I'm curious about your rationality.
I bought it purely for speculation and was going to hold it for 10+ years. They kept hiring coworkers so I figured I'd own a bit of stock as a way...
These days people can create AI agents that have their own persona's but take on the attitudes and opinions of their creators.
I'm not sure why I even bother replying to articles on Facebook anymore.
Just yesterday I was responding to a post about Billionaire and I was doing my normal thing...
