  1. Tesla shuts down Dojo, the AI training supercomputer that Musk said would be key to full self-driving

I owned $TSLA until the point where I couldn't deal with Elon's lies anymore. I sold that stock well before I traded in my Tesla vehicle on a Rivian vehicle I don't have any opinion on Dojo Tesla the company? I won't buy another Tesla vehicle until Elon is gone from the leadership or Tesla...
  2. What is your "minor wish?"

An inexpensive extended warranty provided by Rivian that allowed me to own my R1T forever.
  3. Oregon Coast Trip (Video)

I love the animation of the vehicle on a map. That's pretty nifty. I have a house in Seaside OR that's only a few miles south small section of beach that you can drive on so sometimes I eat lunch while watching the waves. I still get nervous while transitioning from the road to the beach as...
  4. Hot take: Google Maps is not really much of an upgrade

What bugged me about the previous Navigation was there was no easy way to get something fixed. All you had was report an issue with no ability to explain the issue, and this never led to them fixing anything I reported. Now if there is an mistake you simply report it to google, and I presume...
  5. 2025.22 Update - Official Release Notes (Now With Google Maps Navigation)

That's one more thing to kick off my "things I hate about my Rivian" list. I do expect google navigation to be significantly better and much faster to get issues corrected. With the old navigation they never fixed a single issue I reported. I was aware of the other way of doing it (through...
  6. Looking Stupid Waiting for the Unlock !!!!!

Lately this has been happening to me (Gen 1 R1T) and I use a Fob. Apparently I'm not doing whatever dance it wants me to do. I don't dance!!!!
  7. Cruise/Driving Assist Randomly Cutting Out

I used to get the "take over" events in the same spots like on I5 in Tacoma, and when there was glare or rain. Now I get them randomly. Gen 1 R1T
  8. Study: Aggressive Acceleration Good for Battery Life

Back in my day Cops did actually give out "Display of Speed" tickets or at least warnings. I got pulled over once for this due to my behavior at a stop light where I floored it right in front of the cop. I tried to explain that I wasn't displaying anything. That's just what I did on occasion...
  9. Reuters: US safety agency contacts Tesla on robotaxi issues seen in online videos

There are two FSD systems FSD supervised - What all the miles are on FSD unsupervised - Has very few miles. We simply don't know how effective of a killing machine FSD unsupervised will be.
  10. Reuters: US safety agency contacts Tesla on robotaxi issues seen in online videos

I think you missed what I was saying in your need to defend Tesla. Tesla has the most aggressive plans for self-driving so I used Tesla as an example. I don't know of any other North American based organization that has a more aggressive plan for self-driving. So obviously the danger factor...
  11. Mechanic Works on Audi With Nail in Tire. Then He Turns on the Computer

These days the dentist does remind of me of buying a car at the dealer. They have these weird add-ons that are optional. "For $60 we can use this special rinse that will help your teeth." I nodded yes but I was thinking "how is this any different than something I can pickup at the store" Of...
  12. Mechanic Works on Audi With Nail in Tire. Then He Turns on the Computer

Last night I came home to my "Barbell" cycling through its splash screen. I turned it off and then I turned it on and it still wasn't working. I knew this day would come when I opted to go for "automated weights" despite my nephews stance on technology failing. Like why automate a dumb bell...
  13. Reuters: US safety agency contacts Tesla on robotaxi issues seen in online videos

I think this ultimately comes down to a Trolley car problem. Do we allow Tesla FSD vehicles to mow down people in the short term for the long term payoff of eventually saving lives? Or do we choose the Waymo style rollout that's painfully slow where we wait decades for any payoff in terms of...
  14. Reuters: US safety agency contacts Tesla on robotaxi issues seen in online videos

Here is the AI overview (based on available data) with Waymo Overall Injury Reduction: Waymo's vehicles exhibit a significantly lower rate of crashes resulting in any injury. Serious Injury Reduction: Studies suggest an 85% reduction in crashes involving suspected serious injuries. Reduced...
  15. Reuters: US safety agency contacts Tesla on robotaxi issues seen in online videos

I was going to post that one but they didn't actually show the safety driver moving over. At least not the video I saw.
  16. Quiet owner.... but out.

My service center is fairly close to me and for serious issues they tend to get to things quickly. I say that as someone who thinks Rivian service is horrible. I'm going to keep my 2022 R1T out of warranty. I do recognize that it could be expensive to fix so that's why I plan on getting an...
  17. Reuters: US safety agency contacts Tesla on robotaxi issues seen in online videos

Probably 90% of this would have been prevented if they actually used safety drivers in the actual drivers seat, and not safety monitors in the front passenger seat. But, no Elon just had to be different by choosing the more reckless option.
  18. What regen mode do you use?

When it comes to regen I'm of the "give me all you got" I do wish that it did stop light detection and it could use optimized regen for stopping right before the line. That would neat. Instead its up to me to modulate it so it stops right before the line.
  19. Camp Speaker is a Bluetooth Bully!!

The biggest issue I have with the camper speaker is trying to reconnect to it. I use the camp speaker in my Garage while working out. I shut it off after each use but I leave it plugged in (the battery is already bad so no worries there) Almost every time I use it I have to reconnect the...
