Well, that fix didn't last long. About 10 days after I posted that, the steering wheel began making the noise again.
Has anyone gotten this fixed permanently?
Keep in mind that this is Tesla, so the feature won't be available for 4 more years, it'll only work up to 1 foot of water, and it'll require a $16,000 add-on module that eats up half of your storage space and weighs 700 pounds.
The noise started on my R1S when temperatures got colder (not sure if it's related).
I had mine repaired a few weeks ago by mobile service. They dry-lubed the foam that it was rubbing against. No more noise, but time will tell if it's a permanent fix.
FWIW, I was told that there's an updated...
Musk advertised the glass as "bulletproof" but then a hand-thrown ball destroyed it.
So now that it's downgraded to "shatter-resistant", merely breathing on it will break it.
Silly Elon has no idea what his companies are actually producing. But he loves to talk.
Gravity looks like it'll be a great car. But we're given the specs for the top-end model along with the price for the base model which is misleading for a large swath of the population. Lucids only start becoming appealing once you bump up a few trim levels which jacks up the price considerably...
Rivian needs to immediately hike prices 30% to divert attention/anger. Then they can fix the software issue at their leisure, then lower the prices back down along with an apology from RJ.
iOS Shortcuts are now supported, but with a limited set of features. You need to update to Rivian app 2.4.0 (released today) and have 2023.38 firmware on your Rivian.
Shortcuts are limited to locking/unlocking doors and opening/closing the frunk/tailgate (on R1S).
I wish they'd add a shortcut...
Is this normal? My R1S's volume needs to be set really low (4) for normal listening. At 5 it's comfortably loud, and people have to start raising their voices. And at 3 it's pretty faint. So I only use 3-5 and so I don't have a smooth range of volume (either faint, normal, or loud). This happens...
Those screens were added in version 2.0.0 of the app which was released about a month ago. Version 2.0.0 was their big UI refresh (when they added your specific wheels to the Rivian image, etc.).
If there are multiple modes active then you can swipe left and right on those screens to switch...
Updated last night and drove the R1S this morning. There's about a 10-15% improvement over normal roads but you'll need to pay attention to notice it (none of my unknowing passengers realized anything changed). I wish they'd do 4 levels: Softest, Soft, Medium, and Firm. My wife's X7 still rides...
Agreed. I think YouTube is a better platform with shorter videos (vs. entire movies) and more dynamic content. It's like the difference between eating snacks (YouTube) and a 10-course tasting menu (Netflix); I'd rather grab something I can watch in 10 minutes beginning to end. Definitely better...
