  1. US Hwy 12 through Idaho...can it be done in an R1S??

Will do! Yes, I bet you're right, but we are heading all the way to Banff via Glacier so there will be many other RTT nights I hope!
  2. US Hwy 12 through Idaho...can it be done in an R1S??

I usually run about 2.1 or so, but not sure how much the RTT will impact that. Guess it's time for a test drive...
  3. US Hwy 12 through Idaho...can it be done in an R1S??

This is great news! I know they are working on a number of DCFCs around the state that were all funded from the payout of the VW settlement, but I didn't know about Grangeville and Kamiah. The new one at the hardware store in McCall was also paid for with these funds, and just came on line a...
  4. US Hwy 12 through Idaho...can it be done in an R1S??

Yeah, the tent on the roof was definitely my worry. I think we will put it on the roof and just make a drive from Boise to Donnelly and back to see what it does to the efficiency, since I drive that uphill route a lot. I could also just take my ultralight backpacking tent instead of the 165...
  5. US Hwy 12 through Idaho...can it be done in an R1S??

My fellow Idaho Rivian owners will be well aware that we are in a bit of a charging desert in most of the state. I'm planning a trip from Donnelly, ID, to Missoula, MT this summer, and I'd really love to drive US Hwy 12 over Lolo Pass, which is supposed to be a beautiful, winding mountain road...
  6. Issue with Snow Mode turning off automatically

Thanks everyone for the replies. This seems like a safety issue for those of us who spend a lot of time in the snow. It's a real pain to remember to switch it into snow mode when you've only gotten out of the car for a few minutes and then jump back in to drive again. I often don't notice...
  7. Fast charging when traveling to Canada

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it did seem to be a bit more of a hassle than it's worth. I'd I'm REALLY counting on those Tesla sites being available!
  8. Issue with Snow Mode turning off automatically

Hi all, Curious whether anyone else has had issues with their R1S defaulting back into All Purpose from Snow Mode? I've been at a ski resort with heavy snow all weekend and nearly every time I get back into the vehicle, I have to reselect Snow Mode as it has switched back into All Purpose...
  9. Fast charging when traveling to Canada

Were you ever able to get the Journie app to work? I'm having the same issue as you where I can log in on the laptop but can't log in to the app on my iPhone. I'm driving from McCall, ID to Banff this summer. Should be fun getting through the charging desert of central Idaho!
  10. How to Improve a Rivian R1S’s Elevation Sound System With Simple EQ Changes (Equipment Measured Tests & Results)

And RJ is hiring you when??? Soon, I hope! Fantastic post, look forward to trying it out. I’m in my free trial period for Tidal, and I must say I’ve been a bit underwhelmed with the sound quality in Viv. Hopefully your suggestions will improve that!
  11. RealWheels EV Horn Upgrade Kit - Review & Sound Clips Videos

I’m interested in a preorder as well. Thanks!
  12. Who’s using EVgo and why - unreasonably expensive

I agree that these companies have a vested interest in NOT fixing connection issues that result in multiple session fees. I suggest that if a site has connection issues that result in repeat session fees, call your credit card company to contest the charges. Nearly all credit card companies...
  13. Custom Chilewich Mats have launched!

Yes, I agree. I already have difficulty sliding coolers and boxes into the back and hanging up on that hump. While i hate losing that little bit of cargo space by putting the ramp into place, I think it would nonetheless be better for placement of a whole 'third-row+cargo area' Chilewich...
  14. Yakima EXO Hitch Hauler installed for ski season

If you look closely at the initial photos you’ll see the EXO Snowbank ski/board rack underneath the Gearbox. That’s where the skis go. It’s a little hard to see because of the black bumper. The EXO Swingbase system gives you this ā€œdouble-deckerā€ option for two different attachments.
  15. Yakima EXO Hitch Hauler installed for ski season

Thanks! Nope, no rubbing at all. They do flare out slightly from the side profile of the car, so I was worried about a range hit, but so far I haven't noticed anything. My guess is that any range impact would be most noted on higher speed hiway/interstate driving, which I don't do much of...
  16. Yakima EXO Hitch Hauler installed for ski season

I will definitely take some pics next time I get a chance. I've only put the skis in them once so far, and while I was able to wedge the two skis snow-side to snow-side, I have big feet and so that places the bindings both right at the position of the mounts. Therefore I have to put them in...
