I feel some definite H2 vibes. One nice thing about Rivian and Tesla. They look good without looking overly dramatic. American cars seem to always strive for the dramatic look.
I gave it a good test during my 1st Mile at the end after we were sitting in the parking lot. It seemed to me about as good as the Tesla M3 however it's in a bigger enclosure so there's that. It was an early R1S build, I believe he said xx600 so it would have been Meridian.
Realistically, I...
WIth the Model S, I ready ABC (always be charging) was best because the BMS would always read the voltage from the packs. In the Model 3, they cut costs and the BMS doesn't read the voltages as often. With our Model 3, we found we'd 'lose' range with the ABC method and read a number of others...
It looks really pretty good. Much like Rivian didn't abandon the standard notion of what we think trucks look like, Toyota seems to be simply taking something that's not broke and electrifying it. So what will the offer that's innovative? Given their market power, the R2 needs to be ready to...
Tesla did this with M3 tires after people unaccustomed to instant torque started wearing through tires. Our second set of tires on our M3 is wearing much better but we're not testing the acceleration as much as we did when the car was new.
I'm a little curious if Rivian already supports 800V charging and it needs a SW update for that feature or if that's an R2 feature? I'm still curious how much of a difference it would make.
I think ultrafast charging will eventually rollout to EVs but it'll take a while. Look at how quickly...
Someone else weighed the 20" wheel-tire combo and it was 88lbs. Apparently the Scorpion weights 57lbs, so these wheels actually weight 1lb more than the stock. But they do look good.
"Pet peeve: why is Rivian sending what seems to be the same set of older early-VIN R1S vehicles to testers, esp. since they seem to have more warts & harder use, don’t understand this"
I'd hope it's so they can deliver more to customers?
I have AA on my Miata. It's kinda annoying compared to the Tesla. I can still run Spotify in both but only the Tesla has Netflix. Music in the Tesla greets me as soon as I open the door and it's always on but I have to wait until I start my car and it boots the entertainment system and then...
