I think we need small window stickers to identify who is a "waver" and who isn't. There are three possibilities:
Both drivers are wavers and everyone is happy
You wave enthusiastically and the other person ignores you and you feel like and idiot
You mis-judge the other driver as non-waver and...
If I go to an expensive restaurant I get charged $10 for a beer. Yes, I can go to the VFW and get a beer for $1.50 but they only have hot dogs. I'm not going to complain to the server manager at there restaurant because they charge more than the VFW. You bought a $100k vehicle with advanced...
I'm 100% serious. A young kid isn't going to have the money to keep the Rivian on the road. Whatever value the Rivian has will be in scrap or part out value - part out value being depressed substantially by the effort it takes to remove, catalog and sell the parts.
Regarding your 500e comment...
$0, unless the market figures out replacement batteries. EV's are consumables, not collectables.
Rivian will be hit with both luxury depreciation and EV depreciation. Expensive repairs on luxury and performance cars are so high that it effectively makes the vehicles worthless. The repair cost...
Same. They called me the evening before at like 6pm. Considering the drive to the SCs that some people have to make it wasn't the best heads up I've ever experienced...
Same experience - Tirerack website says "reuse OE hardware" but new lug nuts are included. I like the OE nuts better due to their thicker taper area but was worried about some ferment problem since the OE nuts are wider and shallower.
I measured everything twice and did a test install fully...
Exactly. I'd only say get the cheapest charger you can now so that you have less sunk cost for Rivian's V2H if you decide to go that way in the future.
Yes, you will need a "go-between".
The issue is that when the grid goes down any power that you connect to your home will back feed the grid. Outside of causing a wide range of problems this primarily puts line workers in danger as they aren't aware that there is power on a line. I believe it...
This is not accurate and don't know where you're getting this wrong info.
Tesla Powershare powers the home (through their gateway) off the wall connector when there aren't batteries. You can have a battery (Powerwall) as part of this but it isn't required.
It falls into the gimmick category because of a few things:
1) no one would choose a Rivian over a Silverado EV or lightning because of the camp speaker. It isn’t a distinguishing feature.
2) if you don’t buy a Rivian it’s not like you can’t have a portable Bluetooth speaker in your truck. In...
The one latch design is a great upgrade. Now you can't unlock the NACS side without stopping the charge, a big concern before!
I bought my adapter a month ago and haven't used it, kicking myself for missing the upgrade!
None of these are outlandish numbers. Manufacturing and shipping a thousand of these a day is not a logistics challenge that most operations wouldn't be able to handle easily. I don't think that Tesla is making these in house, certainly not all of them. They've contracted the manufacturing...
It's for the locking feature to lock the speaker in place. Also locks while driving around.
Agreed all around with the opinion of the thread. It sounds nice but it's a bit sketchy in operation. If I wanted a portable speaker to bring with me this thing is a bit big, too, so limits the...
No, our KIA and Tesla do this all the time regardless. It's annoying in the Tesla at stoplights where you're waiting to take a left and can't see the map for directions.
Some 22 wheels state gen 1 only, while 20 AT say both. So there is no reason the wheels won’t work. My only thought is perhaps Rivian is using 34” tires on everything now. I haven’t seen someone clearly state what the 22” tire size is yet.
That or it’s a stocking/inventory/sales strategy.
