The current prices of the R1T quad are so much higher than what I paid in 2022 that I couldn't justify the cost.
I might be interested in a 2 year lease return on a refreshed R1T In a few years when the deprecation curve starts to head in our favor.
The real trick is trying to find out...
I have lag every time I switch menus from audio to settings to drive modes etc. The recommended solutions of flipping through every menu after a new update or when you first start up the car doesn't fix my issue. it stays fairly consistent.
When I've posted about it, there seems to be a mix...
I certainly hope so. The lag for Gen 1 users is bad and going to get worse over time. It's the one thing that makes the experience feel sub par when interacting with the vehicle.
Most people won't get the new update until next week. It might be a slow rollout just in case problems pop up.
It all looks great, but all I really want is to get rid of the screen lag every time you switch between different menus. It's gotten a lot worse in the last few updates.
This is California where the average price for the regular is $4.80 and higher than that at most places along the 5. So EV charge rates are still a pretty significant savings.
That said, I too am excited about the RAM Charger and thing range extending trucks for towing and real distance use...
This is the downside of Software Defined Vehicles. Once you show customers what can be changed in over the air updates, they will want the ability to change everything to hyper personalize their experience.
I hope that's not product placement by Rivian..... A couple ding dongs doing slapdash renovations for TV is not exactly the "adventure" angle I thought Rivian was promoting.
I would not pay for any Rivian audio system until there are some serious reviews out there. I have the original Meridian system and it's fine, but it's baseline fine. I'd be highly suspect that they have designed something worth charging more for - with the same basic speaker layout and only...
I passed Gardner on the 15 freeway headed out of LA on Friday. The truck looked great. It had the 21 meatball on the side and the Gran Turismo sticker and some kind of striping, but I'm not sure if it was this final version of the wrap or if they just updated it for this picture.
Yes - When I saw Forest Edge I knew I'd only get an exterior color that worked with it. It was a must have option.
I also knew it wouldn't be as popular as white or black and that they'd probably kill it after a few years. So I'm glad I got my Launch Green/ Forest Edge when I could.
A few people got them and then the supercharger teams were laid off and the process stopped (although that could be a coincidence).
But I can tell you that my 2022 VIN is in the 4500s which is fairly early and I haven't heard a Peep. So I have been using the A2Z adapter.
At this point Rivian may have to come out and publicly certify/endorse the A2Z adapter. They are selling trucks with the promise of adapters and if Tesla decides not to honor the deal, it leaves them in a bad position. Access to superchargers is a big deal to new buyers.
I have had KOs on my 4Runners/Land Cruisers since the 90s but had a bad batch of KO2s on my 2015 4runner that I could never get balanced and started looking at other options.
I put the BFG Trail Terrain tires on my 4runner (Which doesn't really go off-road much anymore) and those have been...
I have clunking. I had it when I got my truck. They replaced the front and rear subframes. It seemed like it was better for a while, but it came back. I think it's in the design and the lack of ICE engine noise to cover it up really makes it obvious.
I don't have hopes for it ever being...
I understand this thinking. Personally, I'd rather have 2 cars than 1. I would stick with the Porsche and get a pickup truck that can be abused a bit with children stuff.
We occasionally tow our horses short distances so the R1T handles that and is my daily driver. Some days when I'm...
I've had Nationwide since I was 16 and first got a license. I always had decent rates even in Southern California until I got my R1T. They have even increased the premium twice in 2 years. have to start shopping around, but the combination of this car and this location will realistically...
I'm in the 4500s and I haven't heard a peep after confirmation. I suspect it all comes down to how many of these adapters are being manufactured and when Rivian can get batches.
In the meantime, the A2Z adapter works great.
