Last I heard the guidance on LE R1Ts was still "delivered by end of 2021" - Did they change this officially and I missed it?
Maybe you're talking about R1S even though you direct replied to an R1T order holder?
I used to do this with excitement. Years ago.
But living close to Fremont, 99% of delivery rigs I see are loaded down with boring old Teslas.
I'll go hang out near South San Francisco once Rivians are delivering in numbers just to watch them coming off the truck at the service center.
Tongue-in-cheekness acknowledged... But CARB certifies the emissions class of any mass manufactured vehicle for sale in California.
In other words, it's aint a BEV unless CARB has looked at it and agreed it was a BEV.
There's some wiggle room out there that you want an authority to weigh in...
Pretty cool that she has one again. A review truck I assume?
But don’t let anyone try to tell you Electrify America has solved its problems… Sigh.

There might be more than just this, but at least one thing you're missing is that the tonneau cover opens and rolls down into the gap between the truck bed and the gear tunnel, preventing anything from passing through.
If I were in the area, I'd 100% do this. Going on photographic tours with my wife as the camera holding passenger is basically the primary use of my ticket. :)
Right I know, but we were talking about the area covers and improving range.
They offer them for the 21"s, why not the 20"s? I was saying I'd voluntarily add them to the 20"s to *get some of that 10-15% back*
Totally true!
But - if I'm being honest - 80% of my out-of-town travel will be on boring straight paved highways in mild California weather.
The humming and hawing is about that.
Interesting!
I'm a private pilot, so I'm familiar with airspace from the manned perspective.
And at least one point while I was studying for the commercial drone license (Which I haven't taken yet) you'd need approval of ATC for any operations inside controlled airspace.
Maybe things have...
Not sure where you got this map of airspace, but it is not accurate.
BMI is a towered, class D airport.
Its controlled airspace is a circle around the airport, from 0 to 2,500 feet AGL (above ground level). You can see the circle on the sectional chart.
The Rivian factory *is* inside that...
Me neither.
I'm still standing by the 20" AT, and - assuming it would lessen the hit to range noticeably - I actually wish I could add aero covers to them.
You can play with that fire if you'd like.
I will not.
Unless somebody has confirmed that the tire choices have changed from what was firmly established in November, I'm going to assume this Pirelli article is still truth.
Regardless, I would bet a lot of money that says the specs of the OEM...
The stock 20" tires - Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus in 275/65 - have a load rating of 116.
Your proposed 20" alternative - Pirelli Scorpion Verde AS Plus II in 275/60 - has a load rating of 115.
That's 2679lbs per tire instead of 2756lbs per tire.
Is 77lbs per tire a big deal? Maybe not...
R1 conditions allow you in with snow tires in lieu of chains *only if the gross weight is under 6,000lbs*
If your vehicle's gross weight is over 6,000lbs, chains are required in R1 conditions regardless of tire.
How does CADOT define gross in this context?
These trucks are gonna gross well...
The 20" OEM tire for my Model X is Continental Crosscontact LX Sport
265/45 R20 for the front at $349 a pop
275/45 R20 for the rear at $336 a pop
The OEM tire for the 22" wheel option is Scorpion Zero ASIMMETRICO
265/35 R22 for the front at $353 a pop
285/35 R22 for the rear at $332 a pop
So...
It's funny that your Tesla from 5 years ago allowed local bluetooth to unlock the car without remote access, because my current Tesla from 4 years ago absolutely does not, as verified a few days ago in my driveway :)
Anyways, yes, people came out of the woodwork to point out that newer Teslas...
You mean 30 to 47 mile hit.
It really hurts.
I'm still getting the 20s, but I'm also getting the Max Pack, so... *sigh*
Hoping that by the time I shred through the first set of tires, somebody has come along with some sort of LRR/ATT hybrid tire that cuts some of that loss down.
