Based on my experience with an EV with Tesla motors (Rav4EV), the AM radio is anywhere from "terrible quality" to "useless for anything other that monitoring electric motor speed and regen" Newer Teslas (in my experience starting sometime in 2017 with Model X) don't even have AM radio anymore...

Mid-2020, Max Pack R1T preorder in the South Bay. Got the email in the second round on Friday. Signed up for a test drive on Nov 18th. My wife was more excited than I'd expected to move work meetings around to be able to join me.

We know that now. I don't believe that - during the very brief period where LE were actually available to reserve - we knew that "Reserve an LE, to get the early test drive, and then switch to Max Pack later" was a remotely reasonable strategy.
