Can 12V be charged if truck dies because of battery? With something beefy like a Hulkman charger? If you kept it in the frunk could you access the charger if fob fails and you have no access to tools? Like camping off the grid with no one else nearby.
This is better news then expected given previous vague 2024 max pack GA. Okay for the minority of max pack holders wanting 4 motors and 3.5 sec acceleration it's disappointing but for most of us it's newer engineering, better battery density AND less money! We can yell at the sky all day long...
Try Car-go automotive group. Tom Dishong 800.557.8992 real straight shooter, used for my SUV: Boston to AZ couple times and AZ to Boston. Tell him you were referred by Fred of the broken leg ?
Generally yr right, but it depends on the underlying engineering: BYD in China for example is doing some cool moves with their lifepo blade batteries. And presumably max with less weight of two motors could extend range with new battery setup. But if we take this guy Tony at his word we should...
Shouting into the void won't make max pack come sooner. Obviously a drag but the engineering is challenging given weight vs existing battery chemistry. There is a possible win here, if you check out that interview just posted on rivian stories, Tony referred to new info for max packers...
Better battery tech is on the way. Check the electric viking on YouTube and his many articles abt BYD's blade battery tech which is not only lighter and energy dense but is also LiPho4 which has 2-3x the charge life than the NCD cells used in the R1T. Waiting for my max pack in 2H '23.
Lifepo4 has more than twice the battery life than NCA for one thing. Weight also depends on whose lifepo battery. If they used BYDs it would be awesome but prob not in the cards.
I had GlobalFoundries as a customer, it took nearly 4 years to build and get their factory in NY to production and that was before supply chain drama. This bill will mean squat for enhancing chip production for at least 3 years.
Hey guys, it's capitalism and they're not in the business for the milk of human kindness. This news sxxks but let's get real this decision is done and dusted and they're not going to reverse it just because there is a lot of whining about it.
The amount of solar power you'll receive from a bed mounted panel would be negligible for charging the truck. You would need a huge array of panels to charge the truck any significant amount. To learn more check out Will Prowse's solar power channel on YouTube. He has multiple episodes on how he...
